Where I was the last week

Yeah, so I was pretty much offline for a solid week, not much fic progress either.

I was away for work unfortunately, and due to the nature of my job I don't really have access to the internet and electricity when I'm out. I mean, pics below are my daily work commute.

Happy New Years (and some progress updates)

So, to start with, Happy New Years and all that.

Hope you all had a good Christmas and everything, I spent mine down in one of the capitol cities visiting friends. While there, I managed to get Lorenzo something hilarious...

    The MLP tabletop roleplaying game.

    Updates and Other Tidbits

    Happy New Year

    First on the list:

I'm currently working on the next chapter for 'I Come From a Land Down Under', and am making decent progress. It's a bit of a difficult one and Christmas and all that. Still, pace is good, so hopefully it won't be too long away.

    Secondly:

    Hi all,

Just a quick update letting you know (warning?) that I've spent the last six hours writing a short little first chapter (9000 words is short) of a Chrysalis versus Thorax fic that hopefully will be posted soon through the approval system.

Chapter Progress... and a Cockroach · 1:29pm Jun 29th, 2014

Well, I didn't get much writing done today, as I was shanghied into going out and cutting wood.

We brought back two tons of the stuff. It's going to be a cold winter (yes, it's winter here currently, and it does get pretty freezing.)

However, I've got about a quarter done of the next chapter of Revenge and I'm looking forward to the next few bits, so I should hopefully get another 5000 words done tomorrow if work allows.

On a related note, the Australian Bush Cockroach is far superiour to the European cockroach.

This one may look adorable, but when you cut through a dead tree with a chainsaw and a mass of them swarm up the saw itself to climb all over you it's an... unsettling experiance. I know that they feed on dead plant matter only, but I watched an old horror movie based around swarms of meat-eating insects at a friend's house the previous night so I was probably a little more spooked than normal.

One managed to crawl down my shirt and got stuck in my armpit hair.

I think both of us regretted the experiance.

well there is nothing like a "good" experience in real life to make the creative juices flow... do we need to wait for a Nigel being swarmed alive?

Croikey! What a buet!

Ponybugs and cockroaches

How hard is the winter hitting you? Up near brissy it's getting to be 0c to -3c some nights and mornings.

This blog post should be permanently archived.

Ever had an counter with the Gympie Gympie plant?

Hehehe Cockroaches suck. I live in a small maine town so I don't see many but I've done my fair share of traveling. Arizona has some nasty ass bugs.:applejackconfused:

So winter is to you cold in there? in Northern Hemisphere, winters are cold enough for your winter (assuming you live somewhere in Australia because of the bug in picture) to be in same coldness as spring and early summer in here.

Good job preparing for winter though, have fun and good luck with future (because we readers are draining good sources of stories like succubus with....well, i'm sure you know what i mean).

Also, i hope that nothing bad happens to you in coming weeks to delay your updates and appreciate your effort to write the new chapters.

Include these in the Nigelverse now. It'll be fun for one of the ISA agents (not Elijah) to have a bug farm of them.

It's around -0 here as well.

sorry but The American cockroach takes the cake
.they knock stuff off shelves :raritycry:

I'm in the middle of the desert. It's not normally cold here. Old people die in the summer from the heat while they huddle next to their airconditioners.

2244704 Ah well the heat is another issue entirely.

When you live in a country where it can get cold enough that your skin can split open and there's no direct sunlight for 3-4 months of the year, just below freezing is considered tanning weather.

Seriously, I've done this.
Winter is in our bones.

Movie wise, you wouldn't have happened to been thinking about Stephen King's Creepshow, were you? There's a scene in that movie where a guy bursts open in a sea of cockroaches.

It's pretty awesome.

The coldest I've seen here is -28C while the hottest I've seen is 42C
Generally, it doesn't reach those temperatures often, although we did have a week where it hovered around -26C this winter. Shit was cold, although I prefer it over the heat.
