the only complaint that i have is that the thermometer is in wrong... the bulb goes inside the mouth, to allow the liquid inside to expand and give an accurate reading.

sure, and that is why i made it look like that... ahm, let me explain that. When i drew this i first wanted to draw a proper thermometer but then i decided against it. HB, if she likes it or not, lives in a cartoony world where some things are just inexplicably different or "wrong". And sure enough if you look at scenes from the show thermometers work in this cartoony way in Equestria too.
Sometimes the little subtly things are the one that really drive a point home and can make you go crazy.
So don't get me wrong, i actually love how you reacted to the thermometer, because i think HB would react likewise.

Don't sweat it. They have been drawing thermometers like that for cartoons since forever so there was a time it actually worked like that. Heck, the one my family used when I was young was from the 1960s and had a small bulb at one end and a metal cap closing off the open end. the metal part went under the tongue for best use of heat conduction.
