    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Ah, so I'm listening to Christmas music, swaddled in a blanket, and excitedly awaiting those days this month where we have something great planned. I'm especially eager for the annual Christmas Eve party with my mom's side of the family. Can't wait to see what we're planning for this year and to meet my cousin's new baby...

But, anyway, this holiday season, I'm happy to announce that The Rock Farmer's Daughters is on the verge of completion. I just have a chapter and an epilogue left, but consider it my Christmas present to you guys. :raritywink:

Alas, it's a bittersweet feeling, finishing a fic. On the one hand, you are just done with all that hard work coming up with ideas, revising said ideas, organizing them into story format, putting them in words, revising some more, and living with the utter terror of the possibility of harsh criticism once you publish a chapter. On the other... story's over. Everything's resolved, characters are having their happily ever after, and you're done torturing them (unless you have an idea for a sequel).

Also, the other night, I randomly woke up in the middle of the night just to draw up more CheesePie foals on a piece of scrap paper lying around. Psht, sheesh, Sketch, as if the twins were enough! Giving Pizza Pockets and Fudge Fondue siblings, eh? :pinkiecrazy:

Anyway, I named the kiddos Rocky Road, Berry Blast, and Cheesecake Chase. Alliterations are too much fun. Maybe someday I'll show you their designs and give you their personalities... but for now, I'll just tell you that Berry's a unicorn and C.C.'s a pegasus. Because I can.

On a side note, please tell me your favorite and least favorite holiday songs. Because I'm just plain curious.
I myself like songs such as O Holy Night, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and Carol of the Bells. :scootangel:
Meanwhile, I absolutely despise I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus and Santa Baby. Just... UGH! :raritydespair:

M'kay, that's all.

That's sad you'll be finishing up TRFD, but I'm super excited to see how it'll end. It's been so fun to read! Finishing a long running fic leaves a big hole in your heart. I'm still trying to recover from ending WCMC (currently working on a sequel short).

More CheesePie foals? We should start a bank. They're just so fun to make up and everyone's got their own unique take on them. There's a lot by a bunch of different folks, but they're all fun to read about. Kind of curious to see what you came up with.

Favorite Christmas songs?
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
O Come o Come Emmanuel
Dominic the Donkey

Least favorite?
Any pop Christmas songs
Modern remakes of classic songs/carols

You came a long way with your stories and I know its a satifying feeling to be done with it. Even though it will be sad to see it end.
my christmas song would be jingle bell rocks and of course the christmas song parodies by weird al. How can i forget rudolph the red nosed reindeer?

my least favorite christmas song is well that stupid grandma got run over by a reindeer song.
