lousy goshdarn snow · 4:33am Mar 4th, 2015

Day 85 of the Neo-Ice Age.

It's snowing again and apparently more than people anticipated (despite all previous occurences) so the roads look like utter shit. New England never learns. Mum and me reenacted The Little Engine That Could in her dinky little car. It was the slowest, most agonizingly inconsistent drive I have ever experienced. I am beginning to wonder if other seasons ever actually existed at all, or if I had just fabricated the memories as a coping mechanism against the endless winter.

The world is piled high with hideous muddy snow, slowly being covered by clean, fresh snow. In time, this new snow will also get encrusted in shit, and the cycle will begin anew. Tiers and layers of fossilized ice that, for all intents and purposes, is more dirt and sand and salt than water.

We will have to build vast snow filtering and recycling facilities to convert the snow back into drinking water. This will keep us going for a little while, but eventually the precipitation will outpace our efforts and bury the streets, preventing anyone from leaving their house. The working population will plummet and everyone will deplete their meager food stores. Simultaneously, their unpaid gas and electrical bills will also take toll and the power companies will pull all their support from the district, dooming us all to deaths by starvation and exposure.

These are the end times, my friends. If you don't see me online anymore in a week or two, assume that I have either been bested by the elements that conspire against me, or that I have built myself some tennis racket shoes and left home to live as a scavenger among the frozen suburban wasteland that had once been my home.
