I made two wolf oc's. And then killed the mother off. · 3:14am Dec 31st, 2015

Just cuz I can. The mother is Kio, and the son is Kato. I killed Kio off, cuz... It's sadder that way. And I LOVE sad stories

Inspired by a video with LOTS of sad stuff in it.

There's the title for ya.

And here's a backstory for this picture, which I know could use a lot of work. I'm honestly proud of how the wolves turned out, but the background... Let's just say I suck at that part so far XD

Kato rushed ahead of his mother, dashing in between the trees as they raced through the dense forest. The harsh cries of the Nofurs got closer.
Kato's mother Kio had bleeding cuts coming from her body, opened up by the branches that smacked her sides.

"Keep running Kato!" she barked. The mother wolf pushed onward, a paw cut and bleeding.

The ground was twisted with uprooted bark and splintering stones, the work of the Nofur's as they prepare to increase the size of their testing den.
Kio was one of their most successful tests, having been mutated to be a war-dog while keeping the Alpha markings and her 86% wolf blood. Her mother had been killed because she was a dud to the system.
The scientists tested her against dog after dog.
She prevailed each time, though weaker and weaker.

Eventually the scientists figured she hadn't been born with enough of the war gene, and sought out to put her down.
But without their knowledge, she had birthed pups.

This delayed the death, as they had to test and kill each of the pups. Kio hid one of them, Kato.
Then when they were leading her into the room, she made a run for it. She took Kato with her, and they made it deep into the woods. The nofurs (Humans) were at their heels though, and just as Kato and Kio were jumping down into a small clearing, a shotgun was fired.
Kato rushed into the heather, only to pop back out a second later for his mother to come.
She was laying in the rough grass, a large pool of blood already forming around her.

"Mom!" Kato yelled. He rushed over to his mother. She looked up at him.

"I-I don't think I can make it. You have to go!" she urged him.

"No! Not without you! Mom, come on! You can make it into the grass!" Kato attempted to put his mother's leg on his tiny shoulder.

"Kato, my blood. They'd find me with it... With this injury" she sighed.

"I'm not leaving you! Not yet!" Kato cried.

"Kato, my child, you must" Kio closed her eyes for a moment.

"mom?" Kato asked.

She opened to look Kato straight in the eye, her look soft and comforting.

"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down.
You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now.
Come morning light, you and I'll be safe, and, sound" his mother cooed a lullaby.
Kato had tears welling out of his eyes, but as the search lights got closer, as did the sound of their harsh cries, he backed into the heather.
The Nofur's came out and shot his mother, before untagging her and leaving her body to rot.

The rest of the night Kato sat vigil with her, silent in the cold breeze.

I'm getting better at this stuff XD
although the background... It just.... I can't do those little (large) demons!
