MLP Cited in reason for Melania Trump's "Speech Plagarism" by RNC · 9:02pm Jul 19th, 2016

I have to admit, I don't think I ever expected to see fanart of Twilight Sparkle at the top of CNN's front page. Yet here we are, in 2016, and it's happening.
I'm not going to dive too deep into the politics here, but a brief summary should get you all caught up on what is currently exploding just about everywhere. During yesterday's Republican National Convention, Donald Trump's current wife, Melania, hosted a speech for her fellow party-goers. Unfortunately, it looks like whoever wrote said speech decided to pull a section of it pretty much 1 to 1 from Michelle Obama's speech a few years ago.
In the strangest twist of fate out there, the RNC Communications Director hopped in during an interview citing a quote from Twilight Sparkle to show that similarities in speeches happen all the time. You can't make this stuff up.
The story is currently making waves over on Twitter, and as I mentioned above, on the top of major news publications around the world. Is the world ready for a Princess Twilight to take over?

It would have been so entertaining to see people whose jimmies were rustled by tiny cute ponies. :P
Australian politics, compared to the US/UK, are dull in the extreme.
However, I take comfort in this, when I see what the ponies across the pond have to stomach on a daily basis, with no relief until November.
Some of us wonder if a dystopian future is in the offing. Most of us are just bemused.
On a lighter note, I don't think it would hurt to have the Elements of Harmony magically infiltrate the rhetoric of Donald Trump for a spell.
His supporters swallow everything his says without question anyway so it's a win win!
