I know I can't be the only one.

When Barney and Robin got engaged in the 8th season of How I Met Your Mother, it bothered me. Like neither one of them really truly is equipped for marriage as they are both really selfish, Barney is a little thoughtless, and they both seem to have trust issues. I mean Barney said himself he didn't think he'd trust someone enough to get married. Marriage takes sacrifice and trust and, while both of them can muster them up once in a while, I don't think either of them could've made a habit out of If they were gonna put them back together at all, they should have only been dating and not gotten married. It just felt so forced and like a giant afterthought. Besides, if they were so insistent on putting them together just to divorce them, then LEAVE IT LIKE THAT BUT DON'T KILL OFF TRACY! I always thought the show was pretty relatable, but then Robin and Barney divorce, Robin realizes "oh wait I love Ted," and then life kills off the mother to pave the way for Ted X Robin. I feel the ending would have been more powerful if Robin moved on with someone new or remained single. After all, I always thought she was very independent and I feel like they should've played on that more.
