After a ludicrous amount of putting it off and being focused on other things and all manner of stuff, including some severe writer's block, I have moved to the editing process of the next chapter. Hopefully, things will move much more swiftly in following chapters, as I've got several lined up in my head to get through after the current one. I just had a substantial brain jam in how I wanted to proceed with multiple new important characters all dropping in at once. I finally decided to just force out whatever I could cobble together so I had something to call a chapter before the year ended. Pray for my editor, for I did much stupid he has to yell at me for in my first draft. 
Not sure if I'm going to finish the revision of editing before New Years, but I can safely say I finished the chapter in less than a year. Shorter than average, but I had to get over the hump through brute force. Should be a couple more days at most, editor's schedule allowing, and I can post the next leg of this adventure that is about to take a very different turn, even as things are still simmering in buildup.

Something tells me I'm going to need to reread a bit when the next chapter comes out
