    Colder Clouds

Hi again! It’s been a while, I know.

This is Colder Clouds. She’s a small one. But if you know me, I lean toward writing succinct, and I feel ‘okay’ at it. I wouldn’t say she’s packed quite as densely as Iridium, but I’ve marked her as a sister story.

Guess it's another quiet end of the year for this pony. I hope it's a good quiet for you.

Most of my work is occurring in a greentext writing style, right now. It’s easy to pour out some happy thoughts in green-paced set pieces. I’ll DM you if you’d like to read some things about bats, bits about OCs of mine and friends, Reckless in Training, and maybe my attempts at NSFW/more vitriolic works.

Pretty Pony Pictures of Mine [against] Emptiness and Self-Hate

I had a lot of free time these last two weeks. Took some time off from real world concerns to spend time with pony friends. To celebrate a particular 13th anniversary. To plan for the year ahead, and all the exciting turns pony might take me next.

I should've done this earlier, but I think I got caught up in writing updates for you guys.
Have I done something like this before? I don't think I have.

46 days.

Over 46 days, I have written 30,000+ words for Bushkeeper alone. I never really expected the story to get so much attention, but I think it really changed almost exactly a month ago; March 5th. That's when it was first featured, back when it only had 22 likes. At the time, I thought that was all it was going to be; a single feature, with very little attention given to the human-centered fic as it was buried beneath a pile of updates from much larger stories. I can safely say that I did not know how the featured box worked, but I think I understand it a little now.

Ever since the great weekend update of chapters 9 and 10 with its 40 like increase (!!!), my story has been constantly featured with every update I post. It's really nerve-wracking, but it's convinced me to work harder on writing better; I've been looking at ways to improve at every corner, or at least, much more than before, since late February. Pushing myself to the limits has never been so fun, yet, it's still a teensy bit stressful. Weekend updates really helped in that regard, as daily updates of 2000 words were bigger than they seemed. Writing 4000 words a week has been immensely eye-opening, as I've never truly written so much in a short time, for a hobby, mind you.

I think one of my favorite things about Bushkeeper is how it brings views to some of my smaller stories. Granted, I know that once I put Bushkeeper down, it'll sit there collecting dust and the occasional favorite, but I'll leave it there knowing that it has brought me some much needed followers. I know that many of the views that stories get on Fimfiction is garnered via this 'horse fame,' and you don't even know how good it feels to see something you wrote explode in popularity despite your lack of true followers, but you might. So, thank you for those that follow and especially those who look at my older stories, no matter how garbage they are.

My most favorite thing about Bushkeeper? The people reading. Honestly, there were just so many comments within the first week that I felt overwhelmed about two people; I'm looking at you, Arcane and Link. There have been many others who have expressed their pleasure for the story, as well as those who have given some valuable inputs in both lore and writing procedure; I hope my text walls haven't been irritating to you guys when I comment. Then, there have been those who, and I'm a little ashamed to admit it, made me a little too giddy; the big authors, Scarheart and ROBCakeran53, to name two of my favorites. Definitely check out those guys, and if you two are reading this, oh my god please stop haha, ROB's early favorite made me nervous enough.

Writing has never, ever, been so enjoyable for me. I hope everyone has been enjoying it so far, and will continue to do so till the end. I'll just leave you all with some screenshots I've been taking since the first feature. Again, thank you all for this amazing opportunity, and I pray that Bushkeeper won't be the last time you hear of me.

Cheers,

p.s. Updates on Thursday, Friday, the normal weekend updates, and Monday next week.
