    What's happening recently.

So for those of you who've read the epilogue to TOWAT, thank you for reading it to the end. If you haven't gotten into it yet, go and take a look, but there's mother/son incest involved, otherwise, avoid it like the plague if that isn't your cup of tea.

    Apologies

Let's get some worries out of the way:

    1) I'm not dead. I still come on here to read the fics while I'm at work during break and lunch.
    2) I'm not quitting TMS. I vowed I'd get the series done before the end of this year (which is especially special since this is my chinese new year, the rooster, though I'm not sure if that's a good motivator).

Sucky Holiday Updates, a.k.a. Vent Blog.

So yeah ... Christmas kind of blew for me this year, specifically with work. Seriously, fuck retail during the holidays, and I thought working at a grocery store during this time was bad.

So for those of you who've read the epilogue to TOWAT, thank you for reading it to the end. If you haven't gotten into it yet, go and take a look, but there's mother/son incest involved, otherwise, avoid it like the plague if that isn't your cup of tea.

Anyway, I realize I haven't been on this site very often lately. Some stuff has been going on like my car just dying and I had to get a new one, currently saving to pay for the loan, and going out of town for a few days to visit family members, but the biggest thing is that I've decided to change career paths. If you've read my last blog post, you know that I'm having difficulty with customer service in the pharmacy. After really thinking about it, the conditions for me to really start working there full-time, and what happens if I do get certified, I honestly think I wouldn't be living a fulfilling life as I had hoped working as a pharmacy tech. I thought I knew what I was getting into, but I guess I haven't gotten the full experience until the last half a year I've worked there as a helping hand. So I'm currently searching other alternative career paths that's more comfortable for me to work in. Right now I think somewhere in office/administration, or something involving computers seems to be my thing. I'm doing some research right now to see what specific jobs have to offer in those fields.

As for the writing, I'm still going strong, surprisingly, but not in the direction I was expecting. I've barely even touched TMS since my last blog post, and besides finishing TOWAT, I haven't written any other pony-related fics lately. I've been into light novels recently--small japanese literature books with some pages of illustration you'd see in manga if you don't know what they are--and I've been writing a story in that kind of medium for the past few weeks. Is it publishable? Maybe in Japan, but if publication standards are anything like here in the site, you all know what kind of stuff I'm not afraid to write, I'm not very confident it would ever go through if I submit a manuscript, and there are very little publishers printing such books in the US. Still, I'm having fun writing it for the heck of it. I feel like I'm invested into writing this like I had when I first wrote TMS, it's kind of nostalgic getting this passionate again.

So what does that mean for TMS and my other fics? I honestly don't know. I wouldn't say I'm getting tired of writing pony fiction, but I feel my interest is slowly drifting away from the fandom. I didn't even realize we've gotten into our 7th season already, and I haven't been catching up to it. I haven't thought of any new content for the current fics on the site for a while, it might be a writer's block in that genre, and I'm just occupying my time with something else. While I'm not sure what I'll do with UTM, expecting it to be a long-running series, I'm not going to drop TMS after getting so far with it, especially with how popular it's gotten from the past few years. I still want to finish that story to the very end. If anyone wants to see a sequel, I might leave that to any other writers who could be interested and I'll just put up the main plot points I've had in mind in the past and leave the direction in their hands. I don't know, that's something to think about when I cross that bridge. I do know for one of the fics here, Dear Miss Cheerilee, I'm going to cut all of the chapters past the first one and leave it as a one-shot. It was intended to be a one-shot in the first place, and I just sort of continued it at the request of my followers. I regret doing that now, and I apologize to those who were wanting to see more. Unless someone wants to pick up where I left off and continue from there, leave me a PM and we'll talk about what you want to do with it.

That said, I apologize for not being active in the fandom lately. I suppose you could say I'm expanding my horizons on what other kinds of stories I could write. Maybe I'll come up with one that's friendly to all viewers and put it on the shelf for selling, who knows? I'll still be checking back on the site now and then to catch up on the stories I want to read, but if any of you are interested in taking the torch of continuing Dear Miss Cheerilee, let me know. I'll leave it up as is for a few more weeks, if I don't have anything by then, I'm cutting it back down as a one-shot as it was from the beginning. Any questions or comments in regards to what I'm doing you can leave down here or leave a PM here. I'll try to get the next chapter to TMS up when I can. Until next time,

This is Dudeler, signing off.

Not abandoning you till you say its all over, just thought I would put that out there.

Well as far as potential careers, consider looking into Cisco networking. Specifically, a CCNA cert, or even better, a CCNP cert.

Pay is generally really good, and you just need Cisco certification to get into the field (which could be done in 6 months of self-study, if motivated). And although it is computer stuff, there is almost no math in most of it, outside of addressing IP protocols. Many positions can also be done from home over secure remote connections, though that is highly dependent upon the company and your exact duties. If you want to ask anything I can answer, feel free to PM me.

I am currently working towards this myself right now, so I can turn around and get a Bachelor's Degree without any loans.

And I'll be looking forward to any and all updates to TMS, but no worries if life changes mean that's further delayed. A happy author is a better quality author.

My interest with recent episodes has been declining, too; however, my interest in the fandom as a whole hasn't changed whatsoever. That won't happen until it completely dies out, and I doubt that will happen soon.

I've been into light novels recently--small japanese literature books with some pages of illustration you'd see in manga

Bruh.

If you can get your hands on an English translation of Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojou (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou), send that shit my way.

4533880 Ah, you have a good taste there, my friend. :ajsmug: I've enjoyed the anime. The light novels I've found so far were translated and put up online, not sure whether or not it's official, but if I do come across it, I'll send you a link.
