If you were making Gen 5

I saw this today (On a side note I really like some of her ideas, especially the final twist)

Her video reminded me of this video going around a while back about World Of Warcraft and wow youtubers giving their ideas on wow if they were in charge. So let's do the same here on fimfic.

I don't know much info about gen 5 but from what little I know it seems to be a reboot. With my gen 5 it would remain in the same continuity, but I wouldn't make it a direct sequel. Twilight would be around in a Princess Celestia roll with the rest of the mane six making cameos here and there. But I'd make it a time skip, not a long one just 10-15 years later with Twilight forming her own school in ponyville which is now a small developing city.

The school would be a magic boarding school but it definitely be a giant tree castle, and I mean an actual tree castle not a ugly crystal tree. The school is an international school, meant to invite both native equestrians and other species of the world. Not only would there be crystal ponies and hippogryphs (from the movie) but also new ones. One idea I had where wildlands ponies based on the early concept art of Tempest. But I'd give them special form of magic that they developed from living in the wildlands a very shamanistic form of elemental magic, and that's the point of the school. Having all promising foals of several types of magic to compare and contrast their knowledge as they increase their knowledge from masters who come from all over the world.

Plot: We follow a group of freshmen from all over the world who are all prodigies in certain fields of magic. While most episodes deal with adventure of the day and life lessons the main plot of season 1 would be a cult of sombra infiltrating the school to steal artifacts and to recruit young prodigies to join the dark side. their be a build up to the season 5 with the new mane 6 teaming up with a member of the original mane 6 and to help them come to the school in order to help with the school.

Characters:

Wintergrasp: The twilight of the group, the de facto leader and brains of the group. A highly intelligent unicorn mage who often tries to be cheerful and sociable but often makes others suspicious with her fake smile and being easily irritated with social interactions. She claims to be an expert in frost mage but is only okay at it, but most don't question her of this do to her larger to life prescience and air of authority she brings with her.

Gaia of the unbroken: A young wildlands pony (who are more primal looking earth ponies with rough and thickers coats and sharp teeth) and the daughter of one of the shamanistic professors. Her natural rugged appearance gives other the misconceptions that she's unintelligent mongrel but shes quite the contrary. She's very studios and a very eager learner, her curiosity rivaling Wintergrasp's. Hoever her years in the wildlands has given her horrible manners, being a sloppy eater no matter where and her dorm room being comparable to a pig sty. She's also rather small for a wildlands pony leading others to underestimate her power and strength. But to those who know her she's a kind and intelligent young filly with wisdom beyond her years. Sorta making her the Applejack of the group, the wise level headed mare of the group.

Moonpie (Or Squeakers): A bat pony whose the first of her family to leave the caves of the canterlot mountains (and other areas but she specifically is from canterlot). A young spunky mare who can't help but be amazed by ponyville and "all the wonders outside a cave". Being a bat pony she has the passive magic of her kind, being help to blend into shadow and see in complete darkness. She often sneaks up on other ponies by accident and is too busy trying to make friends to care. She'd be the perfect spy if she wasn't a chatterbox who gets easily excited. Obviously she's the pinkie pie here

Emerald dreamer: An utterly massive hippogryph who is to shy to say more than two words to anyone. Years spent hiding under the ocean has really affected her, her mother being a paranoid nutcase who constantly told her to trust no one didn't help either. But Squeakers kindness and trusting attitude made them instant friends, and too rely on her for social interactions. She has the power to create pearls that can be used to cast a spell. But she rather use them to create jewelry instead of spell reagents. Kinda going for a mix of fluttershy and rarity with her growing more confident by expressing herself through creating jewelry.

Silk Web: A changedling who joined the school for the art department of the school. A very beautiful and elegant who prides herself on her beauty, her singing. and her acting. As a result she's very high strung and snaps at everyone who dares to try and steal her spotlight, she also gets highly offended at anyone asking her to use her shapeshifting ability. While arrogant as heck she has every reason to be, she's as talented as she boasts to be. The full Rarity of the group but with a mix Rainbow dash's arrogance and competitiveness who learns it's ok to be confident but also to be kind through interactions with Emerald Dreamer.

Applecore: A distant relative of the apple family and one of the few unicorns in the family. Being a science loving unicorn she's considered a black sheep of the family. She despises the old ways of her family and seeks to use magic and science to create new ways of farming to create a new legacy for the apple family. She's completely obsessed with this goal sacrificing her schoolwork and sanity in order to study it. She hides her best accent as best she can and abandons her family's traditional look for a mad scientist one and despises anypony who points out her uncanny resemblance to Applejack. An obsessive compulsive pony who learns to let go of her hang ups of her family drama and to loosen up by getting distracted by the friendship she forms with the rest.

Villain: Princess Oscuro: The alleged daughter of King Sombra who's shrouded in mystery. Only echoes of her are seen giving orders to the spies of the school. But even shadow clones have shown been shown to wield dark magic masterfully, wield shadows and nightmares in a beautiful show of power. Unlike her father she inspires awe instead of fear when she uses dark magic. She does not need to growl or fear, she only needs to light her curved horn to make ponies tremble.

Episode 1: Only Moonpie and Emerald start out as friends as they meet on the airship to Twilight Sparkle Academy Of Friendship, they meet Wintergrasp who suddenly appears and Moonpie seeing her alone decides to be her first friend, annoying the hell out her and Wintergrasp tries to hide it. Meanwhile Applecore arrives early to the academy and meets with Gaia, with her father too busy Core asks her for info on shaman magic. Core tells her a planned experiment she's planning to do so, Gaia says it's horrible idea but Core tries does it anyway to prove her wrong. Then on the airship Wintergrasp is invited by Silk into her private room so she can get away from Moonpie. Silk invited her in because she assumed WInter was an actress because of the noble air she carried with her. Winter says she would never be something as useless as an actress, this starts a one sided argument with Silk that lasts the rest of the trip. As they land with Silk still yelling Moonpie jumps out of nowhere scaring both of them and halting Silk's tantrum. Before Silk could start another one, Core and Gaia come running to the newcomers and warn them to run as an apple tree monster comes running out onto the platform. A small fight scene comes in with everyone showing their skills, Core is trying to make a reverse potion, Gaia is slowing the tree down with molten fireballs, Emerald uses teleportation pearls to evacuate the other students, Wintergrasp tries and fails to freeze the tree earning a snide remark from Silk whose bussy showing her dancing skills and dodging the tree's attack, Moonpie is zooming around area getting ingredients for core's potion. Unfortunately Core's potion makes the tree bigger and grow spikes, until Princess blows it up. After reprimands and congratulations Wintergrasp is tired and just wants to take a nap in her new dorm room, until her eye starts twitching since she shares a room with all 5 other characters.

Finale: After the cult of Sombra takes over the school halfway through the season and 5 episodes of build up of gathering the original mane 6, they lead a siege to recapture the school. They sneak in and rescue students and start undoing the dark magic shield. After defeating a powerful general that drains her of magic Twilight gets ready to destroy to last crystal holding up the shield, until she gets blasted in the back. As she falls over she looks to see the smoking horn belongs to Wintergrasp. The icy mare smiles as her white fur turns ashen grey and her blue mane turns black and purple, her eyes and horn turning red. There was never a Wintergrasp the frost mage a mere disguise for Oscuro the mistress of nightmares to infiltrate the school and get close to the princess of friendship. To destroy her. Roll credits and leave a cliffhanger for season 2.
