    Anniversary

I'd like to thank you all for following me as I celebrate my second anniversary on FIMFiction. It was eight years ago today, 29 February 2016, that I created my account (though for some reason my account now reads 1 March 2016). I've enjoyed my time writing on this site and look forward to putting out more work in the future. Thank you all and happy Leap Day!

    V/R,

    2023 Wrap-Up

    Happy New Year's Eve!

I've been reflecting on 2023, and to be honest, it's been exhausting! Over the past year, I:
    1) Completed 28 weeks of military training.
    2) Moved from the West Coast to the East Coast.
    3) Written 10 papers.
    4) Attended 4 conventions (BABSCon, TrotCon, Everfree Northwest, GalaxyCon Columbus)
    5) Published 3 stories.
    6) Drove over 9,000 miles.

    2023 Updates

Well, it's been a long time since I posted a blog. Three years, three months and nine days to be exact. Yeah, I'm not really for blogging. I don't feel the need to clutter up your notification box with details from my life. However, I do post when I have news to announce, such as today.

Good Mood · 12:03am Mar 15th, 2019

Well, I'm in a good mood. After a terrible Monday and a terrible Tuesday, yesterday was pretty good. Of course, any day you get to shoot is a good day. And I finally rated expert marksman, so that'll be another ribbon on my uniform.

Also wanted to point out that I've published my newest story, The Secret Life of... Maud Pie, today. Be on the lookout!

Keep Writing,

Dreadnought

M-16, M-4, or... what?

5028037
M-9
Although the M-4 is a lot of fun as well.

5028045
Ah, a sidearm. So, are you an MP, officer, or tanker?
And yes, the M-4 is fun. But, the M-2 Browning will always be my personal favorite to fire.

"Don't shoot at personnel... shoot at their equipment; rifles and packs count."

5028129
Unfortunately, I doubt I'll get the opportunity to shoot the Browning.

5028406
Meh. The .50cal has been in service this long, you might just get the chance.

Still doesn't answer my question. What's you MOS?

5028558
... that's not an MOS, but so much has been explained with one word.

So, what branch?

5028963
Well, as I have often complained on this site about the, let's just call it the idiosyncrasies, of my branch, I'd prefer not to say. But you have a one in five chance of getting it right. :raritywink:

5028971
Are you going to keep guessing until you go through all five (soon to be six) branches?

5029023
The logic of artillery; if you can't hit it the first time, walk it in.

So... Marines.

5029114
"walk it in"? I'm no expert but I thought the term was "ranging."

5029212
I'm old, and slang ran rampant. Sue me. Besides, I recover vehicles and fix them, not respond to calls for IDF support.

... I miss my five ton.

Anywho! Airforce?

5029454
Well, you know that this conversation is going to be obsolete. I'm actually submitting an interservice transfer package tomorrow. There's not a lot of opportunity in my branch.

5029549
Well, I have nothing better to do.

Army?

5029630
Nothing better to do? Have you read my latest story? If not, then that statement is incorrect!

5029656
I'm a bibliophile. Reading is compulsive! Well, not really. But, it's something enjoy... a little too much.

Coast guard?

5029825
Biblophile, eh? I might be that as well. After all, I have 1135 books. It's a terrible addiction.

5030448
I have books everywhere. My personal library needs an expansion, and I'm running out of horizontal surfaces. Maybe I can get a count later and organize.

Torpedo to B7...

5030570
Yeah, I know what you mean. I have seven bookcases that are full. Folks ask me why I just don't get them from the library. Truth is, I'm a slow reader so I buy them so I don't have to keep checking them out. Also, I have them for reference for my research projects.

5030791
Everytime I go out of town, I get a book or eight. Foreign countries are not exempt.

If I'm not working or reading, I'm asleep. Speaking of...

5030798
Well, for a while Half Price Books was the bane of my existence.

Part of the problem is that there are so many interesting topics... naval history, aeronautics, astronomy, American history, World War I, World War II, Hercule Poirot mysteries.... I could go on and on.

5030810
Everything. I will read everything. I have read textbooks for fun.

No book is safe... even Twilight.
