    New Story Up on AO3

It's not about ponies. It's an work of original fiction about a fanfic author who updates an abandoned fic after twenty seven years of inactivity. I figured there might be some appeal to people who are interested in fandom, so I put it up for your viewing pleasure. A new MLP fic will be up soon.

    Author Update 10/23/2021 (Anniversary Edition)

It’s funny. I wrote a novel that I shopped to over 20 agents, (most of which I have rejection letters from) wrote a few short stories I’ve tried to sell to various publications, (with unanimous rejections as well) and the first time I’ve ever gotten paid for creative writing was when I won the award for the best TrixiexMaud fic in the recent contest. Life is weird.

A Way Too Personal Declaration of Honesty

My favorite author of all time is, and forever will be, Kurt Vonnegut. I am considering making a huge blog post where I go in-depth into every book he ever wrote. (Please comment if that is something you're interested in reading.) It is my dream to make him turn over in his grave by writing a successful, thought provoking MLP crossover fic with some of his work. If I ever write anything even a

Bicyclette is running a great new group called Comment Club! You should consider joining!

Every week, there's a new slate of fics voted on my group members. Out of those fics, all members are encourage to leave substantial, quality comments on the stories. At the end of the week, we vote on who left the best comment, and the winner gets a gold Lyra (basically nothing but bragging rights) and maybe some cool new privileges in the future!

Once you've left a qualifying comment on a story, you get to vote on which ones are on the next slate! Self promotion is allowed! (Right now a fic of mine is on the slate because I nominated it.) Only two rules for submissions: No porn, and no foalcon. Everything else is fair game. If people vote for it, you'll get comments.

One nice thing I like about this group is how lowkey it is. I haven't had the time to comment on every entry, but that's okay. Most people don't! Just consider all the stories on the slate and comment on the ones you have time for. There are no penalties for not participating, aside from not being able to vote on the next slate.

You can check previous slates in the group's story folder to get a feel for how the comments turn out. I've had a lot of fun participating, and having other people select the stores has cut down on my analysis paralysis on deciding what to read next. I've got a hefty RiL, and sometimes it's not easy to decided what to read off it.

The participants have all been nice and thoughtful so far. It would be great if more people joined, because this group deserves to continue for a long time. Every writer loves comments on their stories.

It's fun for the same reason book clubs are fun. I hope you will join up! I've had a great time so far, and am looking forward to seeing the group expand! You can find more details here!

For anyone considering joining, it's so worth it. There are so many quality stories that I would've never discovered if not for it. A story called Running Off The Rails was my first story I read from it, and it was criminally good. Please do join, everyone loves some positivity in their comment section.
