The Fall of a Titan (aka i have a new longest story) · 6:57am Oct 16th, 2022
So, for anyone who likes to read cringe stories or laugh at Spitfire voices, you’d know that Under The Light of Dusk was for this whole time my longest story at 63,224 words. That’s a lot for me, I’ve never written that many words in one story, or even close to it. In fact, my second longest (or now third longest i guess) story is In Darkness, sitting at around one-third the length (go read it if you haven’t)! UTLOD is not a great story, but it’s still an important story to me because of that. Someday, I want to rewrite it because I have a lot I wanna do with it, but I need to fix it first.
However, as of *checks watch* seven minutes ago at the time of writing this, the story on my side account, Letting Go Of The Reins, has overcome that hurdle and has become my new longest story. Sitting at 64,657 words, it has triumphed over UTLOD and will eventually squash it because that story is nowhere close to being done.
I’ve talked about this story a lot, but it’s definitely become a passion project of mine. It’s definitely the story I’ve put the most effort into, and I love talking about it. Problem is, I don’t know that many people who actually read it, so when I do end up talking about it, nobody understands what I’m saying haha! It also doesn’t help that the subject matter is so particular that if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’re just gonna be confused. I do my best to make it easy to understand in the story, but when I’m talking about it casually I don’t. Whoops.
I am once again promoting the story. I put a lot of love into it, and if you like Applejack, rivalries, the Apple family, literally no other canon characters, horses, and a story that really doesn’t have to be an MLP fanfic but hey here we are, then definitely check out Letting Go Of The Reins!
I’ve been really wanting to be more interactive in terms of that story since it does have an actual established plot and lore and stuff like that. I like the idea of doing blogs and Q&As as the characters in the story (or just characters in that world) and answering questions as the writer and idk just sharing stuff that people might be interested in. I don’t think that story has quite the reach for that, but hey maybe someday.
At least go give it a shot :) if you don’t like it, that’s okay, but if you like the stuff you see on this account, I don’t see why you wouldn’t like that story. It’s got Applejack, and me causing harm to Applejack for lore purposes. That’s, like, classic Jay.
Either way, I just wanted to share that cause I thought it was cool that it finally overcame the 63k hurdle! Woo-hoo! Here’s to 64k more!

Woohoo! Now if that means you’re waiting for the story to be complete, you’ll be waiting for a long time I think. But it’ll be complete some day!!
