This isn't technically part of Jinglemas, but it's dedicated to the ever lovely Flutterpriest nonetheless. As soon as he told me that he wasn't joining the jinglemas collab as a participant, I decided that he was going to get a fic anyway, because he deserves it.

He gave me a heck of a tough nut to crack, character-wise, but I hope I did okay with it.

Life can be tough when work takes you far, far away. It can be harder when ponies you care about don't get the chance to stay in touch, even when they try to—and even when they have good reasons for not being able to write back.

But finally, Applejack's getting an explanation. Finally, she's getting the truth straight from the horse's mouth, as it were.

Even if the truth hurts.
