Twilight Sparkle's birthday has come around, and Rainbow Dash is unimpressed with Rarity's present. When Applejack pokes a bit of fun with her friend, Rarity becomes unusually upset. Twilight Sparkle investigates her friend's feeling, learning something she never expected about her friend and why she is truly suited to be the element of Generosity.

Princess Celestia is the loving ruler of the peaceful land of Equestria, along with her dear younger sister, Princess Luna.

But, a long time ago, few ponies even knew that Princess Luna had existed. It was just Princess Celestia, way back then, and nopony thought anything of it, until one of her students slowly put the pieces together and wrote down her findings.

Now, nearly six hundred years later, Twilight Sparkle finds the diary of that one faithful student who saw past the Princess's facade and taught her teacher a lesson, herself.

Twilight Sparkle - magus, heroine and Princess - has learned of worlds overlapping Ungulatia in space and time. Though this has been a well known phenomenon, safely traveling to these other worlds has always eluded pony mages. But now - after years of research and careful experiments - she prepares herself for the most audacious of all experiments: stepping hoof on the surface of an alien world and returning safely! What wonders will she find once she walks through her magic portal?

This assumes that Equestria Girls never happened.

Luna is no stranger to fighting darkness - both within and without. But when a new predator arises in the dreaming realm, she must fight like never before.

When the abyss gazes also into you, you can't afford to blink first.

What does it mean to be a unicorn? To have spells that create fire, and have light at one's beck and call? The ability to conjure illusions, and grasp and throw objects with just a thought?

There is a point in every unicorn's life when they must decide whether to live with magic as a mundane thing, a simple tool, or to steep themselves in the higher learnings that is their birthright.

For three young mares that have been chosen to be taught by Princess Celestia, herself, their studies have only just begun.

This is the story of a mare named Pinkie Pie.

At least, it would be, if she would allow such a story to be told. But she may end up disregarding the narrative... or worse.

Arthur Renai Craftswell is nopony special. And he's okay with that. Artie isn't terribly interested in his job at Quills and Sofas, but it helps pay the bills. So he's okay with that. Artie has never had much interest in selling his art, but he doesn't do it for the money anyway. So he's okay with that.

Artie's closest friend in the world, one Pinkamena Diane Pie, is struggling to find the time of day to spend with him. And Pinkie isn't okay with that. But Artie is. And he's more than willing to explain to her why.

The idea for this darker spinoff of MLD was based on Celestia's comment from the original story: "When I realized where you ended up, I expected the worst. I figured you to be ruined, tainted and tarnished from this world's cruelty."

Through an accident of circumstance Rainbow Dash is transported to another world. However, her first encounter with a human isn't a loving brony, but a cruel sadistic human who sees her only as a chance for a big payday.

Since the subject matter is darker and writing about filly abuse isn't my thing Rainbow gets transported as is with her memories intact. No cute little filly here.

A classical Equestrian fable, passed from mouth to mouth; from quill to page. The children of yore are the parents of today, and as they grow and change, so does the classic tale. Let us explore this tale as it may one day be known.

In the magical land of Equestria, three regal alicorn sisters rule for the good of their subjects, all the types of ponies, until one day, the shadow of jealousy comes upon one of them. How will the three sisters deal with this? Will harmony be lost forever?
