After an argument with Luna, Celestia realizes that she is the only creature in Equestria who cannot sleep in. She enlists Twilight to help, and the two of them come up with a spell that will allow her to spend the night on a different world. Unfortunately, all their research failed to reveal that the world they sought was populated. Now, the Princess must decide whether to continue with contact, or destroy the only non-Equestrian witness to their existence.

After the accidental discovery of humans, Celestia tasked Lyra with learning about Dale's culture and Dale's language. Two meetings later, a misunderstanding caused Dale and a Coast Guard woman to be inadvertently transported to Equestria. With the two humans hospitalized and communication limited at best, the Equestrians just want to heal them, while back on earth the Coast Guard wants nothing more than to determine what happened to one of their sailors.

Lyra Heartstrings, transformation specialist and social worker for those who believe they were not born ponies. These are her therapy sessions, both in group and in private.

With a little gentle guidance, these lost souls can rediscover the joys of being a pony, and let go of their foolish ideas. What sorts of trauma would drive anypony to throw away their identity?

Lyra Heartstrings is a well known unicorn within Ponyville, although not in the most positive of ways. Her strange fascination with the make believe creatures called 'Humans', has throughout her life elicited many rolling eyes, head shakes, and even harsh ridicule. But she had never given up hope that they do indeed exist, no matter how she had been treated or told otherwise. So when a fateful day comes to pass, where the one gift she had been dreaming for finally arrives, she is practically ecstatic at the chance to learn everything she can of him. And she is not going to let this golden opportunity slip away... or escape.
