A short story for Ponies After People Third Anniversary Contest. Second place winner, woohoo!

Cloudy Skies thought that the biggest day of her life would come when she was to receive an operation to correct her vision, but instead it's the day before when a chance encounter with a strange pony sends her veering sharply off-course.

This was my original story idea for the 2nd Monster Mares contest, before I came to the last minute realization that it was supposed to be themed around Nightmare Night and had to come up with something different.

(Thumbnail is transparently based on that one shot of NMM's eyes in the prologue of the first episode.)

It's been almost twenty years since Sunburst last spent the night at Starlight's home. Much has changed since then. If it weren't for her other friends finding a way for them to reconnect, Starlight might have truly lost her first friend. While she looks back fondly on their friendship as foals, Sunburst doesn't even seem to like talking about that time in their lives, much less revisiting it.

When Starlight approaches Sunburst the night before he returns to the Crystal Empire, she inadvertently discovers something about her old friend that might explain it all.

Inspired by a scene from Uncommon Bond. Story takes place towards the end of the episode.

Meanwhile Twilight deals with her responsibilities of ruling Equestria and Starlight and Trixie set out on a world wide Magic tour. Unbeknownst to them a part of Cozy Glow remains free in a new body and has yet to sort out her lot in life.

It's official. Rainbow Dash, the coolest mare in all of Equestria, is just plain average. How can this be?

After getting yelled at, Vinyl responds by making odd gestures with her hands. It turns out, Vinyl Scratch is deaf, and she feels music instead of listening to it. Feeling ashamed, Octavia wishes to make it up to her, but is surprised by Vinyl's request.
