Discord has been in these lands long before they became Equestria. He has seen kingdoms rise and fall, and countless generations of ponies pass him by. Unbeknownst to everypony else, he had more of an impact on history than just what his powers have done.

All of this and more comes to light during a late-night conversation between him and his wife, Fluttershy.

It's Twilight's birthday! Pinkie gives Twilight a book on how to be Pinkie. At first dubious, Twilight becomes fascinated by the view into Pinkie's mind.

Being the only human in Equestria can be a bit daunting at times, but it gets much easier when you have friends there to support you. But, as the days go on, I start to realize that maybe I need something more in my life. I've never been in a situation like this before, but all I know is that I want to see where it goes.

The Lord of Chaos had little concern for the passage of time... until he got a friend. Wanting to make Fluttershy's birthday the best she's ever had, he resolves to find the best present in all of Equestria.

Fluttershy put down the marker pen and frowned at her calendar. “I just thought: When is your birthday, Discord?”

On the sofa, Discord stopped eating his saucer and stifled a chuckle. “Birthdays? Come now, Fluttershy. What makes you think the Master of Chaos wastes his time on birthdays?”

After Pinkie messes up Twilight's latest experiment, they find themselves combined into one pony. Juggling two personalities, the new 'Twilight Pie" attempts to have fun and party while still investigating the scientific implications of this strange biological occurrence. This, this is why I spend so much time in the archives, Twilight thought, holding a dusty old book close in her magic. Inside the book were a number of advanced spells, each one more interesting than the last in some sort of circular logic that Twilight could only assume went to infinity

Twilight galloped through the doors to her tower and leaped onto her favorite reading pillow on the balcony. She opened the book to the table of contents.

Oh my gosh! They’re all so interesting! Ooh, an age spell! That…might be a bit beyond me. But here right below it – a duplication spell!
