On the Inside

I tried to find my way down the narrow streets,
As the puddles splashed beneath my feet
I’ve lived all my life with no company
Until I met you

The way you came to me and said hi
Made my heart lift like a butterfly
You made me feel so bubbly inside
Free from all the blue

We both sat together on a park bench
Stacking our hands before they start to clench
The sun touched down on both of us
Now, I’m feeling alright

That was until you placed your lips to my ear
And told me something I didn’t want to hear
And now my heart lets out a total fuss
Broken on the inside

I tried my best to make sense of this
But everything fell into a deep abyss
And now I can’t take the pain
I just wanted to run

Facing down my bed in a pool of tears
Everything I knew was a lie for years
All I could see is the heavy rain
And now I feel done

What do you think?
