Maybe it was a gigantic error.
In my humble opinion, it helps set the tone for the next part of this chapter. If you don't like it, well that's tough. But if a lot of people don't like it, I'll mend the wound.
The one thing that kinda annoys me here is that I agree with Discord, being invulnerable would eventually cause them drift away from those not. I can only hope he meant it when he said none of their symptoms never killed anybody.
Well... I had to say this was quite enjoyable xD However, itt got confusing near the end as to what were Discord's cards on Twilight. He had NOTHING on Twilight to begin with lol... or at least thats what i felt.
Also, a disease based on thoughts and reactions? Intersting, but I wouldn't think Discord would 'test'. The ! ending was so realistic, it made Discord unrealistic actually :x....
And not to mention Celestia's distrust on Discord in canon when she left the elements with Twily. I dont think she would hire him, or even ask him to help. Shes more than capable to do that herself.

This fanfiction was, I suppose, pacing practice along with a challenge from a friend of mine to not be completely goofy the entire fanfiction. I know I could have eventually done a far superior job, but diverting from the original idea took away some steam. Good news is, I can always return to this with bonus chapters because I left the ending open where Twilight does go through with the week AND with two different styles.
By making an unrealistic god realistic, have I not created chaos?

though the Scootaloo one seemed just the tinest but cruel,and the whole thing with it all being a test was pretty clever!Definitely one of my favorite fics so far!
