187. Rainstorm

Foals being afraid of the weather is nothing special, even if they’re pegasi. But how do you tell your friends, co-weather ponies, and most importantly, your boss that you, a grown up pegasus, are afraid of storms? That you always crawl into your twin sister’s bed when it begins to rain? Or that she has to comfort you every time carefully pre-planned lightning strikes hit the ground?

Best to pretend that everything is fine. Flitter won’t tell a soul and what ponies don’t know won’t hurt your reputation, right? Maybe if I try hard enough, I’ll actually believe it myself.

I don't like this concept. The ideas great. And yet these stories don't even match up to the 1,000 limit used for submissions into the site. Also a 100 word type is like not even 30 minutes of work. I just find this lazy. I mean come on man. Getting that first comma in my work always made me proud of my material. This right here. I bet you have problems loving yourself. Is it really work though?

And hell! I'll be honest. I don't like publishing my stories until I at least get a good ole 5 big ones. (5,000 words) Into each one of my chapter. This was like a slap to the face for me. If you're gonna write please put a bit of effort into it. It's a wonderful art. A grand hobby. It should have it's due. You've manage to write not even 2,000 words in a year. Sure there's a lot of ideas. But I'd rather read up on the guys placing one chapter stories spamming the site. Those take me about the same time to read. You did with one chapter.

If you look at my story list you'll see that I write longer stories as well. This is just a writing exercise for me, both to learn and remember that an economy of words is key, as well as get my creative ideas flowing. Besides that, sometimes I just think it's fun to see how much I can convey in just a hundred words.

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but laziness was not the reason I wrote this like I did.

5670678 Hmm... I mean, I do like longer stories but I also really enjoyed these . If you added up all of them, they'd come out to be a decent-sized fic, and I do like the hundred words idea; kind of like haiku but with a story.
