Noticing that her subjects have grown bored and hunger for entertainment Princess Celestia decides to create a fighting tournament to attract the best fighters from Equestria and beyond.
Before long announcements for the Equestria Battle Tournament begin to show up in every city and town, including Ponyville.
Derpy Hooves, Vinyl Scratch, Octavia, Lyra Heartstrings, Bon Bon, and even The Doctor all decide to enter the tournament, but each one has a different reason for doing so.
In addition to potentially fighting each other, they'll have to fend off against several other ponies, including old rivals, who are all also hoping to win, not to mention that the final battle is against Princess Celestia herself.
In this tournament, it's no holds barred and winner takes all. Who will come out on top?

Now comes the fight against Discord. Remember that he makes several pop culture references, including the Wilhelm Scream, CSI: Miami, and Sega Rally.

3209707 Well the first part is a reference to CSI Miami where prior to the opening this guy would say something, put on sunglasses, and finish saying his sentence. (Some kind of one liner) then this would play and lead to the title credits:

It basically works like this "Looks like it's *puts on sunglasses* game over. Yeah!"

3209766 What's your logic behind the fight? What sort of motive or background binds these two together? Every fighter needs to have some sort of interaction, something that sets the tone for their fight.

3209789 Okay but do you have anything outside of that? Cause if that's all there is to it the fight might feel kind of bland to those who are turned off by Lyra's obession with "hands".
3209802 Hmm... you make a valid point. Still, the only other ponies I could think of were Shoeshine, Cheerilee, and Zecora. Quite frankly, out of the four, I think there's better reason behind Spike as her opponent. Still, I am open for suggestions.
3209832 Maybe make it so that Lyra's obession of humans stems from Spike, or perhaps make her have an unrequited crush on him. (As a matter of fact do that.) And when Lyra wins she professes that she love Bon-Bon more then she does Spike and decides to "let him down" and Spike is completly shocked to learn that Lyra was ever in love with him.
