Spike is growing up and Twilight is in dire need of help, as her 'little' brother is becoming more than she can handle. But just when she reaches her wits end a surprise visit from princess Luna shows that Twilight and Spike need not face this plight alone. Luna has arranged for a dragon tutor to assist Twilight and Spike as they explore what it means to be dragon. With his help they hope to learn and cope with a world that is changing with the turn of time. Can Spike discover about his heritage and figure out where he truly belongs?
(This story is a spin off from 'Mission of Buzzbot' and though not vital to have read it, having done so will help set the scene for you as it follows the same universe)

3745287 Aye it's frustratingly vague on the ages of the chars in the main cartoons. There are only a few references to time i'e thousand years for Luna's exile ect. Mainly most references to Spike always refer to him as a baby dragon, but how old a dragon is considered a baby is yet again vague
So it's a rough guess and Luna doesn't know exactly either to be honest when she tells Thortax.

I'm actually a huge lore buff, so I can provide some information here.
Three years old is two years of age progression after where we see the Mane 6 currently. There is a doc out that gives evidence via Lauren Faust that the Mane 6 age as real horses, so they're probably somewhere between 4 and 5 in a worst to best case scenario.
Now, since it isn't completely solid canon as depicted in the series at this point, all of it is subject to interpretation and aging can be whatever we want it to be. However, it sounds like your story is strikingly close to Faust canon here. Definitely don't feel like you wrote it wrong, because ponies that age as humans has no established basis, whereas ponies that age as horses (which means Spike is one year old in the series and three years old would be almost fully grown) at least has Lauren Faust's word--and keep in mind that she created them, no one else, so she ought to know her own universe better than anyone else.

I think Warden also riled Spike up so that Spike would vent his anger and clear his mind somewhat.
Reverse psychology is very effective on Apple Bloom who has a crush on Pipsqeauk already. I spotted it too like Twilight but in my case due to another story with PipBloom shipping where Apple Bloom has the exact same attitude to Pip which is a good thing.
You can't make deals with such criminals that are no better than terrorists. At least not when they want to go free and in every world people can be made to talk. It doesn't have to be torture and I'm curious to what Warden will suggest.

This was really a great story and I liked it. The grammar could be better though and I think Apple Blooms accent is a bit too much I was confused by the fact that she said summit instead of something. Summit is after all an actual word with a very different meaning the Great Meet could be called a summit of dragons for instance.
