Great to see Celestia be awesome again. Odd that the Smooze seemed to be warning her off, but maybe it just didn't know whom it was dealing with. Then again... might there have been some sort of magical backlash? It would be one thing if Celestia just fainted because she doesn't use her full power that often, but Luna too? No coincidence, surely.

Suri turning out to be DT's mother was an interesting Caveat. I actually suspected that she might be when I first saw Rarity takes Manehatten.
It's also amazing how in one chapter, I suddenly see Crescendo differently. I always thought that he was a nice guy, but his attitude and calling Spike a lizard quickly changed that.

So does he not know where Shining Armor lives when he's not with him and Luna, since living part-time with his "cousin" would seem a bit suspicious for him not to suspect something, even though he's young?

Been enjoying the story. It started off with terrible pacing and too many scene changes, but it seems you have worked around it a little bit. Filthy should realize that his investments are tied with ponies and the current form of government, not with hostile outsiders. If he's trying to play a game with them he will get burned as will his family.
And the complications continue to pile up!

The reason this took so long was that it was mostly exposition and I felt the need to add a bit more too it then that. Next chapter has a fairly major development and won't take nearly as long to write.

The reason I had a problem with it is the timing mentioned in the entry left behind. Timing for badly injuring his leg, running into a friendly group of ponies and running low on supplies isn't consistent.
