A story from the Waterverse
Apple Bloom has been disconsolate for days on end. Her mind has been stretched to its limits in her efforts to come up with new ideas for discovering her Cutie Mark. No matter how hard she tries, no matter what she does, the Mark simply will not appear.
Apple Bloom knows the value of a Cutie Mark full well. It’s the symbol of one’s purpose, the proof that one’s life has meaning. It’s a symbol of accomplishment, potential, and that –no matter what- a Pony belongs in this world.
So what if one’s Cutie Mark never comes?

Yeesh. That taunting was super affective. Gotta say, that scene was done well. Aside from scorn part, though not sure what Waterverse is so I'm not sure what makes this a part of. The Twist going to Canterlot has me curious though, is she or her mother a famous confectioner?
The way Apple Bloom deals with her emotions is pretty well captured here, has all the elements from episodes like Cutie Pox and Twilight Time's moment where AB is just convinced she's always being judged by ponies with cutie marks, especially if those ponies are Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara.
I only wish more parents were as eagle-eyed and attentive to their children's feelings as AJ is shown to have here, only I question why AJ who knows everything and even detests it can't have a talk with Filthy Rich with Diamond Tiara knowing how AB keeps seeming to wither right before her eyes.

Loved that scene.
I like to think emotions still affect the weather in Equestria. Hmm. Probably why Diamond and Silver tend to only mess with AB because she reacts so seriously to something they think should be common sense and easy to get for any pony. Who knows. But I can see even a tiny filly's emotions bring forth a bit of rain if the emotions were just that strong to spark negative energies to build wherever she went.
But anyways, that was a really sweet ending. It properly shows the affects of how one can grow more and more despondent over time, slowly believing their own self-worth to be less than what's really there. To eventually give up on things you care about. And just being too ashamed or worried you would drag your own friends down if you let them see that side of you.
Great story. Short, but sweet. I prefer my Apple Bloom with a smile on her face. <3
Sorry for the bother, but could you link the origin story that started this Waterverse? I'd like to check it out. To me this is essentially just a normal fanfic about the effects of bullying (done right), and I just don't get what makes this a different universe from just 'any other day in Ponyville' fiction. (aside from AJ being self-aware of Apple Bloom's history with DT&SS but does nothing about it for reasons unknown, which too seems to be all too common in fiction for reasons I can't understand.)

I wanted the weather to be symbolic of Apple Bloom's moods, so the weather was always an indicator of what was going on inside her.
And yes, I did make sure to take stuff from the show. Out of all the Crusaders, AB always seemed the most vulnerable to bullying. She's a touch more emotional than the others.

Very nice. Your writing style and grammar are superb but the subject of the story is a bit overdone. Barring that this was top notch.
