Had to chuckle. Well done.
Two things really intrigued me with this story:
First: You managed to give Flash Sentry an interesting appearance. Even if it was short you gave him more character than the two EQG-movies. I for myself don't hate Flash - and I don't get why the community tends to unleash its wrath on him for being 'flat' (but filling background-ponies, with no lines or meaningful actions, to the brim with background at the same time.) So kudos and a moustache for giving this notorious character likeable features and a bit of a background.
Second: You broke with the "Scootaloo is an orphan"-thing. More you gave her with Flash Sentry a family. That idea is really cool. I hope you don't mind if I keep this "ship" in mind for later purposes. This is worth another moustache
Oh - and I have found one nitpick:
While its technically no error - I would suggest violet-haired instead. It reads awkward, given that you want to distinct between MLP:FiM and EQG.
So: This story is nice and well done. A good little slice of life - what the tags promised. So have a like and be welcome on my favorite-shelf (the story - not you... that would be awkward, too)

Huh. Can't say I've ever seen this headcanon before. Also, interesting to see that the girls are seeking their special talents in this universe. Without the usual indicator, how will they know when they've found them?

And thanks for the feedback. Personally, I really hate the whole "Scootaloo is an orphan" cliché, which is why I prefer to speculate as to who her family is (My current headcanon is that she's Flash's little sister).
Also, I like to write with Flash Sentry because he has so little personality; he's basically a(n almost) blank canvas upon which you can draw up any sort of character you want. Basically, he's everyone's OC
