This story is a sequel to Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité
After the battle for the Crystal Empire. Extensive searching in the lower levels of the Crystal Castle have unearthed what is possibly the largest and most comprehensive plan to destroy Equestria since Nightmare Moon's return. Now informed and armed with some magitech as well. France has dispatched The Charles de Gaulle and his battlegroup to the Guiana Passage in order to investigate the remnants of the ancient Alicorn Empire. What is revealed during the battlegroup's expedition would create the largest crisis modern Equestria needs to face with.

thanks Zero for your input, and I'm sorry but no, I won't bring back battleships into the fold again. There is a reason why most countries abandon that concept once aircraft carriers went into service and it's not because they're too expensive.
We don't live in an era of big guns anymore, we live in an era of precision weapons that needs to hit their target with pinpoint accuracy. And in this verse, the French navy just ordered a bunch of missile frigates and destroyers alongside with this beauty:

This carrier is due to enter service in 2019 but are being rushed into service as we speak alongside with other ships and fighter jets. So yes the French are returning to their glory in this new world, but this will be a different France than the France in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Thanks Zero, that ship was ordered in 1953!! and commisioned in 1959!!, those are some very old ladies and you can bet that it would cost less to build Horizons than it would to retrofit that already old ship with modern weapon systems and computers. Can you imagine the cost it would take to retrofit the hull and make the ship seaworthy again?
And as for the ships in Landevennec.......just take a look for yourself and see whether or not it's feasible to build a fleet off of that

Ok, great chapter but with some grammar mistakes, anyway, I wonder if they have already deployed some satelites for navigation, and have some ICBM with nuclear heads, that would be a last resort if everything becomes a mess, if they have it of course, if not, then it may be difficult not to lose soldiers.
