Ooh! I loved this chapter! I hope we get a drabble of when Discord puts a spell on Fluttershy, that scene always gives me chills and makes my heart race. I hope that doesn't sound weird.
Gotta love Dissy for at least showing some boundaries here, all the more reason why Flutters fell for him. So yes, I can see that this kind of scene should've been in the final draft but the story was fine without it.

You may need to make one of these for the "Daughter of Discord" series, because you cut out a few things that was important to it. I LOVE the alteration though, it's interesting.
Wait.... I thought this part was skipped....
I see why you regret not putting this into the story. It left me in tears, and that's saying something, because I didn't even cry when Fluttershy died in Daughter of Discord! Call me heartless, point is, it takes a lot to touch my heart (if it exists), so it's a surprise that you did it!
Oooh okay, this is a lot creepier than the actual scene. I see why you changed it; this would have been a really interesting premise, but probably a lot darker than Bride of Discord. Singling her out and immediately taking her removes the idea of Discord actually caring about his bride's feelings, which adds some pretty scary implications for Fluttershy's time with him. Really cool scene though; I almost like this better, it just wouldn't fit with Discord's motivations later.
Awwwwh this is sweet. I like the restraint he shows, especially with the whole marriage bed thing. You're right; it would've made his motivations much clearer, and made that scene more adorable, but it's nice to have the ambiguity in the final draft.
I think this actually would have been a really good addition, as he realizes he can’t have her and chaos and then ultimately makes his decision. However you were definitely right to end it on that wham line, packs much more of a dramatic punch, even if it leaves it this quite sweet reflection.

Very interesting concept! Although this works just as well, and shows just how much he cares for her, (even if it is for a different reason at this point) there isn't as much character development for Applejack and Fluttershy's friendship here since they go to Zecora for advice before Fluttershy accepts the deal.
While this is definitely not worth replacing in the official tale, it is still quite the interesting story and worth the read!
Wow...so it was more less of a spell than it was literally a collar. That's...kind of dark. At the same time, I find it interesting at why she never asked him why he did that. I mean it could be that it never crossed your mind, but during their date or maybe during their talk by the pond I could see her asking why he made the necklace that way. It seems odd to me why she'd never bring it up.
Nevertheless, great chapter!
You know DF, your books are amazing, even if they are just drabbles. Your books can brighten up my day and allow me to relate to some characters more than I ever have. I especially loved how I really relate to this chapter, thank you for being an amazing writer.
