Alphas do not mate with other alphas, and Sunset knows that. Unfortunately, a mishap between her and Rainbow Dash have put the two alphas in a complicated relationship.
I continue to find this an interesting exploration of the psychology and society of a slightly but significantly different species. :) And there do also appear to be parts that have qualities of either allegory or applicability, which is adding some further interest.
edit: Oh, though did you miss my previous comment?
10111723 There is definitely quite a bit of allegory in here, yeah, lol. And yes, I did miss the response/question, yeah. 10107192 10106904 This is kind of in response. So I mistakenly said 'Infertile' when I was talking about Alphas, when what I probably should have said was 'mostly sterile', at least in regards to breeding true amongst one another. Due to the alphas evolving alongside the hyperfertile omegas, they stopped breeding between one another, favoring the more evolutionarily viable omegas, this lead to them basically losing the ability to bear children.
Biologically, the idea is that since Alphas, Betas, and Omegas were originally disparate species they had the ability to breed true among one another. So male-presenting omegas would have male genitalia, but in the same case alphas that I described above, Omegas eventually evolved to mate exclusively with the more virile Alphas and since all omegas can bear children, regardless of their physiognomic gender, they also have the faculties for that. This is where the 'dont think about it too hard' advice comes in, since it loops around to what the link in story description describes for 'male' omegas.
Don't do it Sunset, love will conquer whatever challenges it might face. Don't do it...
Rainbow will suffer so much before this is over
