REALLY good job on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places. Yeah, the touch about making the unicorns purebloods, the pegasi half-bloods and the Earth ponies muggleborn actually DOES make sense. I especially liked the looks into the Wizarding World Human Mane Six's family lives (and, yeah, Pinkie being a witch makes a lot of her unusual abilities make a lot more sense and I loved how Fluttershy's father pointed out that talking to animals is extremely rare EVEN in the magical world). And the flashback to Fluttershy's first meeting with Angel in THIS universe was also some surprisingly beautiful stuff (considering what we know about Angel).
I'm guessing Spike will be in later chapters as a semi-tame and surprisingly intelligent young dragon (though more of a "series of cameos" deal [as one of Hagrid's animal friends] than a main character) even if I will admit that guess COULD be wrong and is mostly wishful thinking (wanting to see Spike worked in SOMEWHERE in a positive light) anyway.
It's a pretty safe bet that Twi will end up in Ravenclaw, Fluttershy and Pinkie will end up in Hufflepuff, Rainbow Dash will very likely be in Gryffindor, Applejack is fifty-fifty concerning Hufflepuff and Gryffindor and Rarity will end up in Slytherin (since I'm guessing that the Mane Six will be fairly representing all four of the houses). As for other characters, Sunburst is pretty much a shoo-in for Ravenclaw , Sunset Shimmer is an almost definite Slytherin and Cadance (who is half-blood as canon Cadance is an ascended Pegasus) is probably a Hufflepuff but that's ALL I'm going to guess.
But, anyway, I'm DEFINITELY going to be looking forward to more of this.

Hey there. Not much to say beyond, well, this chapter might have taken a while, but it was VERY worth the wait. Absolutely loved the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places. Yeah, all the girls' reactions to the school supply gathering were quite believable and I greatly enjoyed the girls' "trial and error" scenes concerning their wands - indeed, the wands DO reflect the girls' personalities quite well. And, yeah, Sweetie Belle might have to wait another couple of years (which makes sense concerning she is probably only nine years old at the oldest at this point in time). And, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple Bloom ALSO turned out to be a "muggleborn" a couple of years down the road (proving ESPECIALLY talented with potions).
Anyway, definitely looking forward to the next chapter (since it will probably having the girls meeting for the first time and doing a bit of bonding before they officially arrive at Hogwarts).

Absolutely loved how in-character ALL the family scenes were. Most of the scenes were a good mix of funny and moving, but Applejack's was just plain emotional (VERY appropriately so).
So the next chapter is going to be the ride on the Express and the chapter after that is probably going to be the Sorting Hat. After that, who knows? And that's part of what's so great about this; NOT knowing.
Anyway, very certainly looking forward to more of this.

So Twilight made friends with Applejack, Hermione and Neville (combines a good Mythology Gag to the actual MLP: FiM series [i.e. Applejack being literally the first friend Twilight makes in Ponyville] and a good compare/contrast between two different pairs of pureblood/muggleborn friends), Rainbow befriended the Weasely twins and Pinkie, Fluttershy befriended Zecora and Cedric (and is helping look for Neville's frog) and Rarity has met Sunset and Draco (and has already seen a bit of their nastier sides after initially getting along with them). All in all, definitely makes sense. Plus, I did like how Twilight already showed some subtle signs of natural leadership (she was the one that made the search plan concerning Trevor) and Pinkie's "detective stuff" is another good Mythology Gag to the MLP: FiM series (this one concerning "MMMystery on the Friendship Express").
All in all, definitely looking forward to more of this. Particularly awaiting seeing where the girls get sorted.

I don't really see Sunset as being the type to follow blood prejudice tbh. More the type to discriminate against everyone less skilled than her (which would basically be everyone).

That's a pretty valid point. Indeed, I COULD see Sunset taking that kind of pride in her abilities, especially since she IS talented enough to back up the ego and too ambitious for everyone else's own good. Which would probably lead to HER becoming the Alpha Bully for at least a couple of years (with Draco and his pals being basically her lackeys [as, while they are talented enough to handle certain "dirty work" type jobs, they are NOT talented enough to last long standing up to her]). That being said, she also has a couple more standards than Draco and his pals, which helps her keep them more or less in line. But, she also develops an EXTREMELY grudging respect for Twilight (who IS one of the VERY few students who is as talented as her) over a period of years, which gradually develops into a genuine friendship by the time they both graduate).
But that's just a wild guess and is just as likely to be wrong as it is to be right.

Rainbow Dash = Gryffindor (40%), Hufflepuff (40%), Slytherin (10%)
Applejack = Hufflepuff (60%), Gryffindor (40%)
Reasonings:
Twilight is intelligent, sometimes thinking outside of the box (S3 Premiere Stairs of Crystal Castle), but she has a slight devious and cunning streak
Fluttershy is shy and mostly loyal, with bravery sometimes coming out, and a slight penchant of scheming nature
Rarity is ambitious and cunning, fashion-creative, hard-working, with a feminine bravado
Pinkie Pie is mysterious and enigmatic, but throughout the show, she equally encompass traits found in each 4 houses
Rainbow Dash is brave and loyal, especially towards her friends, but she also has a slight ambition of being number 1
Applejack is honest, hard-working, family-loyal, brave, and willing to protect her family and friends
I do hope there won't be any "All of us in the same house" cliche from some HP and MLP crossover fanfics
