Starting with the OG Final Fantasy I see, tracking.
This has got my attention so far.
Sounds like we have a changeling in the castle already.
I am very excited for this, being a big Final Fantasy fan.
However, I very much would ask you to go back and write more... well more. This idea has the potential to be something amazing, and it would not be served well by making it more of a conversation/play than a story.
I like the inclusion of music, which is an important aspect of any FF game, but don't forget the descriptions of where we are. The bustling towns (as much as they can be in the early games), the salty sea air of the ocean, the gurgling heat of Gurugu, etc.
I look forward to more of this story/series.

I did see the trailer.
I'm not too sure what to think yet, to be entirely honest. Maybe it's because I literally grew up with Final Fantasy, being one of the first games I remember playing, that I hold certain expectations that I didn't get out of the trailer. I am looking forward to more details on it, though.
I guess I expected more gameplay examples rather than a cutscene movie clip. I'm not a fan of that style of reveal.

I can only wonder who the voice speaking to them is. I like the idea of them having to level grind like your typical Final Fantasy game. Surprised to see 16 getting a reference this early, but what the fact that it exist now, it deserves that much.
So far so good. I also have never heard of "memories of heroes" though I didn't remember hearing something about Canon names for the heroes. Also I had the idea at the top of my head what player class would suit each of the mane 6

I can only imagine how changelines would look as Amano drawn enemies. I also see that Twilight isn't wearing her princess status on her sleeve while in this world.
I can only wonder if anyone's done anything like this with Dragon Quest yet. I'm also wondering the closest the ponies abilities could come to your typical Final Fantasy skills. let's see~
maybe the levitation with Demi. flying with Jump. the Stare with Provoke or anything that causes paralysis. Pinkie's confetti with Blind and Rarity performing Cry no matter how much she says otherwise.
I can only wonder how much Haste would supercharge Rainbow Dash. I also see that Setro pros a little from his dissidia backstory. Also I never knew where the Lufaine originated from before now.

well that was a timely update. I almost forget how much Final Fantasy takes The names of certain monsters from D&D which inspired the series to begin with. I wasn't expecting rainbow power to be implemented for the upgrades especially since it was mostly a one-time super form.

Agreed, he's the heart and soul of that game.
Chrysalis does help give a predominant reoccurring threat to hold us over until Chaos. Its also good you emphasized just an amount of challenge Warmech can bring. Its a good thing no one's had to go all the way back to the closest village just to get a revival yet. on another note, I just like that both series happened to feature the same monsters such as cockatrice and manticores.
well we're getting near the end. As for future installments, I kind of wonder if the ponies will pick up any signature skills and techniques from the various Final Fantasy games for themselves. I mean I can completely picture Twilight casting Fira, Blizzaga, and whatnot.
yeah I can imagine Chris Sabat's voice shifting into Keith David here. I can also imagine The ponies reaction to Curaja emphasizes with every player throwing down their controller in frustration. Looking forward to the finale next time.
Wonder what will be their reactions to Garland in the present, considering that Tyro said after the cycle broke, Garland redeemed himself and became a knight truly loyal to Princess Sarah when fighting Emperor Mateus' hatred and malice given form as the real one died years ago to Maria, Leon, Guy and Firion.
I rather liked this story and look forward to more.
