I particularly like how it was actually for Scootaloo's mother rather than Dash. That was nicely done. And it almost made me shed a tear.
EDIT: Judging by how quick this has gotten a dozen likes, this might scrape into the feature box.

It was a beautifully depressing story to me. I have to wonder why that song was written though. I listened to it and it depressed me a little. Great story and a little sad. I enjoyed it.

My feels meter just broke.
I gotta say, I was honestly expecting Scootaloo herself to be the one to be dying from the plot outline, given the amount of Scootabuse the fandom's heaped upon her throughout the years. Still a tragic turn of events for Scootaloo, though, especially on Hearth's Warming Eve with no last goodbye. All the reader really has to take comfort in is knowing sister!Dash is there for her.
I can't say I really see Firefly as being Scootaloo's mom, though.
Noooooo...pe! The one character I match from the entire show is Scoots! And when I was 4, my mom past. That's why I still stand strong, as a tomboy...I MISS HER.
This reminds me of a cross between The Christmas Shoes and Roses for Mama.
