Complete newcomers might want to start with Trixie's Magic Bit, three books ago. You're kinda jumping into a big story with a lot of people going 'what about Big Mac? do we get to see AJ and Dash raise their foal?' and so on. Just a word of warning.
Or you could just read for the sex- this whole thing started as simple clopfiction, and it still tells its story as much in bed as out. Up to you

Just wanna be one of those folks who says that the story is what I'm here for now, even if it did start up as as a sex story. The story in the second part got kinda nuts at times, and the third one was fantastic. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one (beyond working in what appears to be Twilicorn with the picture you chose!)

That's no accident. I do NOT know exactly what is going to happen with Twilicorn. But that is me, committing to finding a TMB place for that happening. I already know why it's happening in Trixieverse- Princess Celestia keeps getting more unsettled by all the kinky ponies. She's trying to buy Twilight's loyalty (or something along those lines). I'll know more when I've seen the actual season finale and can study and incorporate how the show handled it- but on the strength of all the reports of Twilicorn happening, Twi is takin' a ride- or a fly

Yeah, that is kind of what I figured, it's something that, although interesting, doesn't hold my main focus though. (I do like the continuing theme of Celestia trying to avoid change, if you do take that route) Really curious as to what plot related things are going to be thrown our way this time around.

Say, are we going to see the 'aftermath' of Luna and Lyra getting together? Will Lyra show back up, at Luna's side? That'd probably give Trixie a heart attack...
I know I should feel pity, or concern, or sorrow for, or compassion for Rainbow Dash in your stories, but... I just get so angry at her! For the Element Of Loyalty, she is often anything but, now with regard to her own daughter. Yes, I grasp - depression is a real thing - Goddess knows, I certainly suffer from depression, but dammit... Dash is just SO damn selfish, self-centered, utterly, utterly impossible... I almost don't have words.
I don't like your Dash. She's an asshole. With incredibly poor impulse control. Pony psychopath, or the closest that a pony can come to such. It's like her frontal lobes are damaged, along with the temporal lobe. She reminds me of Phineas Gage, after the rod. I am starting to loathe her. I find her despicable. The best thing I can say about your Rainbow Dash is that she is seriously broken.
Is this the intent? I get that she is supposed to be the 'Bad Boy' of the story, the heel in the soap opera, but... am I truly the only reader to feel the beginnings of loathing here? She never learns, never truly repents, never truly takes responsibility. She claims she wants to but... how Applejack - or anypony - could keep forgiving her, or putting up with her crap is beyond me. Perhaps this is your intention, if so, it is working - reading about your Dash evokes emotion, even if the emotion is very negative. She isn't boring, I will agree, and boring is the only sin in writing, ultimately.
That said, goodness, Applejinx! When she was heading for that cliff, a part of me just thought "Good. Everypony will be better off!" and that bothered me that I thought that way, because - holy Celestia, what the hell am I doing, wanting your Rainbow Dash to just be dead and over here?
I guess I am finding her grating and increasingly unlikable. She causes trouble - I guess she is your Dr. Zachery Smith, your source of conflict, really - but oh... oh how I am getting weary of her selfish stupidity. I don't want to beat a dead horse here - I want to beat a live Rainbow Dash until she IS dead. GAHHHH!!!!
So... great writing, really. If you can piss someone off, at least they are feeling something, right?
Maybe... maybe other readers can find something likable about Rainbow Dash in here. Maybe it's just me. But damn... someone needs to call Foal Services, because that mare has no business raising a pony. Or being around other ponies. Or being. At all.

2070727 See, and my opinion is that this Dash is so close to the canon Dash that it's not even funny, because canon Dash IS a total asshole and DOES totally have shit for impulse control. The difference is that this Dash loses her shit in other directions than "take it out on Fluttershy" and bragging non-stop because it's not a kid's show in the Trixieverse. Wanting her dead's still a bit much, since PPD is a real and very serious mindfuck, and not one that's really avoidable or her fault in any way (other than choosing to have a foal).
That said, I feel really badly for Derpy. Flight Lightning's comment was totally uncalled for.

Saw this story came out... So I'm all like "Will this series ever end?! I thought he said trilogy!"
Then I realized that I still had to finish the last three chapters of Dashie's Foaling. So I went it did that.
Now that I finished reading Dashie's Foaling, I'll be reading this tomorrow.
I really like those last three chapters btw. A few elements in them felt a little forced however.

Looks like it's possible to suggest poni in the Ursa Major awards recommendations
('Where Earth Meets Sky' by CloudySkies, on FIMfiction, is a listed nominee)
They go by when you published the last chapter, so Trixie's Magic Bit and Rarity's Worst Day Ever are applicible to the current ones (for 2012) but Dashie's Foaling is not as it ended January (meaning that the whole trilogy-a-la-Hitchhikers doesn't qualify)
But TMB worked out pretty good for ponies, and RWDE had a heck of an ending there in the cave with Luna and Trixie and the big battle, and I believe they could be combined in a nomination as they're a continuing narrative finishing in the same year.
You're encouraged to get all your friends to sign up and clamor for you to win.
I am not going to tell anypony to do this. I know what I'm doing- writing for y'all again, because I love you, and knowing that I can do that means I don't care that I've never got a feature for any part of Trixieverse, or any sort of fancy awards for any of the Trixie's Magic Bit books. They started out of poni-infatuation, and grew out of love, and it's requited (for at least a few folks) and that is enough.

on a different note, Applejinx... we do see AJ and Dash partnered, as well as Flutters and Pinkie... both, even, with foals. But has the subject of marriage come into play? As in, something official? I note how Dash said "marefriend", but it's gone way past that level now...
This chapter worked for me, it made Rainbow Dash more likable. There is some compassion visible, some caring about others, and that helps a great deal. Plus... some restraint and deferment. Also, some gentleness. That works for me.
Incidentally, I hope Twilight and Trixie are still looking after Rarity and helping her have some kind of sex that doesn't involve crippling shame. Heavens knows, looking after Sweetie Belle fulltime is going to stress Rares out...
And are we going to see any fallout from Fluttershy's birth, aka 'Fluttershy's aversion to discomfort and Pinkie's latent feeder tendencies nearly gets Fluttershy and foal killed'? Pinkie snapping and going all personal trainer on Fluttershy would be awesome. "No Sweet Tongue Music 'till I see some pushups, chubby!"
Also, Braeburn needs to come to town so there can be d'aww. And the dawning of ScootaBelle will do interesting things to the CMC. And and and...

OKay. Turned out better than expected. With gilda showing up i was like "ooooh fuck. brace for shitstorm!"

I did not like Gilda in this chapter. The way she acted and her dialogue just seemed. . . off. The way you connected her behavior now to subtle nuances from her previous appearance was well done, don't get me wrong, but even with that justification she didn't seem entirely real to me. I can't name anything specific, but my advice would be to reread that section outloud and see how it sounds. If possible, I'd advise getting someone to read it with you, much like rehearsing a play, and see how the dialogue works in real life between two people.
I have to agree with Rainbow's hesitance towards Derpy. While it seems to me that Derpy is not "retarded" by the American definition, she definitely doesn't seem to be "all there" in the mental sense. So it makes sense that Dash isn't entirely comfortable with the idea of banging Derpy, and while it seems that she and Applejack are the best ponies to guide the mailmare into the adult world, knowing you it's not going to be as simple as it sounds. The best I can hope for is that Derpy isn't too heartbroken and finds true happiness in the end.
