At an indeterminate time of day, Twilight Sparkle – fresh off yet another marathon study session – is trying to get some rest. Only one thing stands between her and blissful slumber: the annoying dog next door. Same as it's been for months. Twilight is close to her breaking point. Can she formulate a plan to deal with this most pressing issue? The very survival of Ponyville absolutely does not hang in the balance. A one-shot story.

Vinyl Scratch, having overdone it at her latest gig and lost her voice, is trying to sleep it off when, first thing in the afternoon, there's a knock at her door. Greeting her is a friendly, earnest filly wanting money for… something. Filly Scouts, apparently. Seems they help those in need, whether those in need want it or not. Can Vinyl keep her sanity and her home intact over several days of kids visiting her? Considering these kids, probably not. A series of short vignettes.

After yet another unproductive meeting with several citizens, Mayor Mare comes to the realization that she and Ponyville would both be much better off were she not mayor. Unfortunately for her, the powers that be seem to want to keep her. No matter; she'll make Ponyville get rid of her! To that end, she tries every trick she can think of to make ponies angry. Luckily, Twilight Sparkle has offered to help, bringing this crazy idea she read about in some book somewhere called "democracy". How could it go wrong?
