It has been an interesting time for Equestria of late. Changeling invasions, the return and purification of Nightmare Moon, Discord, the ascension of a new princess, and the threat of Tirek.

Now Celestia's daughter, Dusk Star, has returned from a trip to the Zebrican lands, and no sooner than she is back in Canterlot than a new guest appears in the castle, in a room locked behind princess-only magic. Just having one visitor to the world is one thing, just keep it quiet, impress on them they are trespassing and keep an eye for any sneaking return trip. Having two visitors come in the span of twenty-four hours and one of them breaks through that spell like it wasn't even there? Harmony or some other power must be at work, and it's up to Dusk Star, the princess of protection, to figure out what.

This story is a sequel to Training a Princess

Note - This story is able to be read separately from anything else in the series. If this is your first fic of mine, please, enjoy! If you want to read in series, wait until year 3 (not quite but close enough) of Training a Princess or some events may be spoiled.

Meadow Dawn had been spending time in another Equestria, an allied version that while more militaristic, was giving her much needed leadership training. A side effect of that world was the strong chance of landing in another, so much so that there was an entire division dedicated to recovering lost ponies from such events!
Now Meadow Dawn finds herself to be among that affected group, using her skills to hide as best she can until their Equestrian Defense Force members can rescue her. It'll be hard, considering the world really doesn't want her to lose her colorful nature!

Author's note: Very proud of this project, as it has very little extra fluff as best I can tell, and is probably one of my best works to date for the goal of keeping it short and sweet. Let me know what you think!

Equestria once had a Meadow Dawn, who was presumed perished in the fire that consumed her family's home and tavern. She was given a second chance by a creature between the worlds who pulled her through, saying that she could live and find a way to return home, or even raise the dead. She resolved herself as a filly to do what she could to do both. She grew up to be a capable adventurer, mentally scarred by the fire, but eventually joining up with a group from the nearby growing kingdom, who happened to include the king.
Where will her adventures end up? Will she stay alive long enough to return home safely? Will she find romance? No one knows since this is a roleplay between two players in the ongoing campaign!

(The dm cancelled on us partway through.)

A garage sale mirror was purchased, cleaned and polished, yet some dark shape seemed to block the light. Jess tried to clean it off, only to find her hand going through the mirror itself! This dark form became more solid on the other side, and actively blocked her path home. Now she'll need to figure out more than just how to walk on four legs as a pony, she'll need to learn how to use magic and find out what is preventing her from leaving. What will she do once she finds out why the 'shadow' blocks her path, and what can she do to return home?
(This story takes place in tandem with "Trapped in the Mirror of Worlds" by my good friend, Silver_Wing. Our characters intersect at many points, and you will enjoy the nuances of each character's perspective of events).

Note1: This story has divergence from the partnered story due to differences with the other side, including on direction of certain events. It may have similarities if continued, but is no longer collaborated.

Note2: this story has a sequel the author has moved forward to Soldier and Hope for the forseeable future. Bear in mind this will contain spoilers for this story and potentially for Trapped in MoW if the commonalities remain.
