A/N: Started "one-shot" fic, written after reading "Adventures of a Teenage Foalsitter" and realizing there was a decided lack of romantic and knowing/consenting Shining Armor x Queen Chrysalis. The first chapter can be read as a standalone story, but, well I suppose it's obvious, the story does go on.

Absolute power corrupts, that is a fact.

But sometimes there is that one person who is able to prevent you from following the call of madness, who manages to be a shining sun in the madness we find ourselves in.

Sunset never thought that she would be that sun for Twilight, nor did she expect for Twilight to keep the power that corrupted her in the first place.

Due to a mix-up in the pantry, the jasmine tea that Princess Celestia orders for consumption with her breakfast turns out to be made out of coca leaf, instead.

A period of overwhelming bureaucratic efficiency, aggressive platonic affection, and mild insanity follows.

I have fallen in love with the Anon-A-Miss story line, and all the different stories that depict darker, more realistic takes on what may have happened. But, now that she isn't constantly afraid, new questions have risen in place of the old ones, who is Midnight Sparkle? What does she want? Why is she still here?
