Many years after Luna's banishment, a secret network of ponies still remain loyal to the Lost Princess. They worship her as a goddess, a returning hero who will stamp out injustice, and reward the faithful who love the night.

Loyal cultists Night Light and Velvet, receive word of a prophecy that their second child will be instrumental in the return of Nightmare Moon, so they leave Canterlot behind, and bring their foals to a secret colony, deep within the Everfree with only one goal in mind: Keep Celestia from finding Twilight Sparkle, no matter what the cost.

Meanwhile, time is running out to find a bearer for the element of magic. Sunset Shimmer has disappeared, Sunburst isn't ready for the job, and Celestia can't bring herself to put her faith in shy, clever Moondancer, even though she might be Equestria's last hope.

A Friendship Is Magic AU in which Luna has a small band of followers, and that changes everything. Please don't discount this story just because of the pairings, but I've listed them below all the same.

While hanging out with her friends, Sunset Shimmer learns that earth horses apparently can't vomit.

As a magical talking pony, this discovery utterly baffles her.

Coming from a world of magical horses and into a world of talking ape things, Sunset misses conversing with her fellow equine. Well she gets the chance when Applejack needs her help with the farm horse, Missy. But it's not what she expected.

Sunset Shimmer wears a leather jacket, walks with confidence, and used to be the school bully. So it's only obvious that she could probably kick anybody's ass.

Tonight, she's having her friends over and they're going to find out just how true that statement really is.

Apparently someone made a Spanish translation of this fic, so that's pretty rad.

Twilight Sparkle is not in a good place. Shunned and abandoned by her friends, her mentor and even her family for a thoughtless outburst at the wedding rehearsal. But she still has friends in Canterlot, even if she forgot about them.

Oh yeah, and somepony should probably do something about that whole changeling issue.

Sunset Shimmer leaves a normal life, sure she is magical girl that defeats the forces of evil from time to time, but she has feelings, goals ambitions, good ambitions mind you. However something been bothering Sunset for quite some time, something that she has noticed about everyone around her be it her friends, or even the students she doesn't know. She doesn't have a archetype, or does she.

Everybody agrees that Sunset Shimmer is the best Smirker in Canterlot High. Well, almost everybody. There are some people who think they smirk better, and are willing to challenge her during the Smirking Contest. They are definitely not prepared to handle Sunset and her smirk.

In the past, Sunset Shimmer always averted her eyes when Vice Principal Luna spoke to her. All too often, it meant a lecture or some other storm was coming. But, just once, she looks at them long enough to realize the terrible truth.

Making eye contact with your vice principal can be really awkward when you can't stop thinking about how gorgeous her eyes are.
