After the events of the Canterlot Wedding, the Changelings regroup and plot a return. Upon their comeback, they successfully imprison every live equine in Equestria into cocoons within the span of a year. Nesting in the mountain next to Canterlot, the Changelings feed off of the thousands of ponies' love, claiming Equestria as their own.

Many years after their triumph, one pony escapes her cocoon prison through sheer luck, discovering Equestria to be a dark and barren wasteland of dead trees and no existing plant-life. Searching for any means of survival that she can find, the individual pony seeks a safe place to hide from the Changelings hot on her tail, knowing that if she gets captured again, they will put her back in her cocoon where she will be trapped for the rest of her life, dooming her kind forever.

Talks broke down. The unification failed. Hearth's Warming have never occurred. The Great Pony War divided the land, and fears of a prophecy forced the unicorns deep underground and into near extinction.

Almost one thousand years have passed. The curious unicorn Sparkle yearns to breach the surface to discover its many wonders and to search for her missing father and brother, both of whom crossed over many years ago. She is forbidden to leave the safety of her subterranean village of Unicornia until she discovers an orange earth pony washed up on the shores of an underground river. That pony bears one of the six Elements fabled to change the world.

Or destroy it.

Petra Alice Bettencourt, a child of the lost Earth's ruling corporate elite, nears her fourteenth birthday. What was originally meant to be a quick trip around Equestria turns into a harrowing journey that expands from the comfy suburbs of Ponyville to the forgotten ruins of an underground kingdom to the biting tundra of the north, all filled with odd characters, laughter and an evil that has lasted for generations as the pets each embrace their inner hero. Because as we all know: the greatest of legends always start with the smallest beginnings.

When Pinkie's sisters dig up an ancient living weapon designed to fight Discord, they don't know that they have unleashed a massive threat to Equestria. How will the Princesses and the Mane 6 fight a force that keeps growing stronger and which they don't want to harm? After all, how can Pinkie fight a creature with her sister's face? (A sequel to An Earth Pony's Guide to Magic, though probably possible to read without having read the first fic in the series)

It's great, right? Gets your hooves movin', your heart pumpin', really makes you feel alive. I'd always heard, felt, lived, breathed music every day, every second of my life, and I'd never even thought about it.
