After a long summer filled with magic shows, Trixie comes back to Ponyville to spend the winter freeloading at Twilight's castle. However, she finds out that a lot of things changed when she was gone.

It seems her friends all went on some magical adventure without her. And now they're all in a lot of trouble.

He could have said no. He should have said no. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to stop her right there and then. She would have understood. She would have forgiven him. The spell would have been gone forever, and everything would have gone back to normal.

But he didn't say no. He didn't, and now it feels too late.

It can't be denied that Flash Sentry hasn't exactly had the most successful love life. True, he's been thought of fondly by those he's been with, but he's never quite managed to make anything stick. Enter Pinkie Pie, self-proclaimed "helper of all", who sees this most eligible of CHS' bachelors, and decides it might be worth lending a hand.

With Starlight now having patched things up with her dad in front of Trixie, the subject turns to the matter of family for Trixie. Specifically Trixe's father, a subject that Trixie has noticeably avoided.

When pressed though, Trixie willingly confesses that her father is Jackpot and is a magician like her. A father that she has only vague memories of and has not been in contact with for years. As a result the bond between the two is strained.

Hoping to prevent her friend from going down the same path, Starlight convinces Trixie to write a letter to Jackpot. Though hesitant at first, Trixie reluctantly warms to the idea as a way to try and make peace with the impact of her father's departure from her life. But what will Trixie write, and is a letter going to be able to ease her pain?

Starlight and Trixie have just gotten back from a very brief roadtrip to Saddle Arabia that didn't pan out. The trip may have been a bust, but their friendship still stands.

Having worked as a guidance counselor for several long years, Trixie decides to have a chat with Starlight about how much things have changed, and how she'll never become the world famous magician she wanted to be.

In the aftermath of the Ursa Incident, Trixie returns to Ponyville to retrieve her special 'Collection' from the wreckage of her cart. However, she discovers that her 'Collection' is in the hooves of her nemesis Twilight Sparkle, which understandably puts her in a tizzy. Can Trixie get her 'Collection' back?
