The Cutie Mark Crusaders ask Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy about what happened just after the events of the Cutie Mark Chronicles; specifically, what happened to Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash immediately after the race. Reluctantly, Dash and Fluttershy delve into a tale. A tale of a young Fluttershy's amazement at the world she had landed upon, and a filly Dash's desperate quest to save her from that most evil of places: THE GROUND.

A fellow pony notices that Princess Luna may have a serious problem: there is a small, sentient race inside her mane and they have been living there for quite some time. Luna must decide what to do about this.

At first, Twilight doesn't understand why Princess Luna wanted them to watch the coming eclipse together - but as it turns out, Luna has something very important to ask of her. For Luna fears always being known as the cold and distant Princess of the Moon, incapable of forming true connections. Can Twilight help her, or will Luna be forced to grow resigned to what appears to be her fate of eternal isolation?

Her name is Ditzy Doo, but everypony calls her 'Derpy'. This annoys Twilight, who embarks on a quest to discover the origin of the nickname.

Terry wakes up one day, thinking it all a dream. What happens in this 'dream' is more than he can handle.

Once upon a time, in the time before Ponies came to live in the great fertile land now known as Equestria, there was a unicorn sorcerer known for his hirsute nature and eccentric adornments for his robes and hat: Star Swirl the Bearded.

It is said that in his time working for the court of the Princess Platinum of the Unicorn Tribe, he created many new spells with which Unicorns could shape the world around them, and was seen as a great stallion.

But this is the story of a spell he did not create, nor did he take from somepony else…

One by one, Twilight and her friends must come to terms with the consequences of being the Elements of Harmony.

These stories take place in the intervening time between Season One and Season Two,
with the exception of Ditzy Doo: Muffins, which takes place early in Season One.

The series continues in the sequel, Secrets and Lies.
