Silverstar, formerly sheriff of Appaloosa, had one job: find the fugitive Twilight Sparkle and bring her safely back home to her family -- He failed.

She was caught, but not by him. Guilt ridden, the weary trail worn stallion comes to visit the unicorn as she awaits trial for her crimes. However, one promise can all to easily turn into an excuse to avoid another.

Each year the unicorns and nobles of Djeeneigh gather to expel those they believe are beggars, urchins and miscreants. Masters of the disciplines of magic, they know no pony can oppose them, but their protective spells are not as strong as they once thought.

When Clover is told by her family that to serve as advisor to the soon-to-be queen, Princess Platinum, she must become knowledgeable in the art of magic, and is sent to study under the universally acclaimed, reclusive spellwriter Starswirl.

But being an advisor to the Queen was not the destiny she wanted. It's up to the middle-aged scholar to find a way to compromise and learn to coexist.

AU because of the journal of the two sisters, and possibly some comics which I have in no way read. Rated Everyone for Excessive headcanon.

When presented with an opportunity to claim everything she had always wanted though, she chose instead to give it all back to the pony that had rightly earned it in the first place, and in so doing forever resigning herself to the consequences of her own crimes.

They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step, and that it is always the first one that is hardest. Sometimes though, the last step can be just as hard, and now Twilight must find within herself the strength to take it.

Starswirl the Bearded: widely regarded as the greatest unicorn wizard ever to walk the Earth. But was he really the genius history has made him out to be? Or was he simply a mad magician, whose unethical experiments in magic were justified by results pleasing to the eye of the public?

The answer is neither. Fortunately, he left a personal journal behind which might shed some light on who he really was.

Twilight Sparkle has moved up in the job world. From sole librarian of Ponyville's Golden Oaks library to head librarian of the newly renovated Grand Equestrian Library in Canterlot.

What she did not expect was the responsibility that comes with that title as she soon comes to realize that a librarian not only deals with books, but also with the secrets that must not be allowed to be free.

These are the records of her journeys into the unknown to protect all of ponykind from the myths and legends that have been hidden away and must never see the light of day.
