For the past few weeks, Princess Celestia has been quite used to Daybreaker tempting her in her dreams. Unfortunately for Daybreaker, Celestia doesn't have much use for even greater power or the terrified fealty of others, and even threatening Celestia doesn't seem to perturb the princess in the slightest.

But Celestia wasn't prepared for a dream about making conversation over pancakes with Daybreaker. And she certainly wasn't expecting the loud-mouthed and melodramatic alicorn to be horrifyingly effective at crushing her will with breakfast and cold, twisted logic.

Princess Luna sends her beloved student Moondancer to face the imminent return of a wicked mare of fire known as "Daybreaker". Finding herself alone and facing a pony far more powerful than her, Moondancer wonders if she really is the hero Equestria deserves.

While selling her namesake fruit in Appleloosa, Strawberry Sunrise meets a handsome, easygoing stallion who makes her cynical heart go pitter-pat. But she can’t be falling for him! He’s...an Apple!

Written for Jake the Army Guy's Obscure Shipping Contest, this story won 1st place.

Big Mac is a wealthy stallion turned into a beast after being cursed by an Enchantress. Sugar Belle is a simple baker living in a nearby village with her widowed grandfather and avoiding the affections of the town hotshot, Feather Bangs.

One day, she finds herself at the castle and encounters the beastly stallion and his enchanted staff.

What follows is a beautiful and unexpected love story that proves love can overlook any appearance.

Based off Disney's version of 'Beauty and the Beast'.

Based on Letters from an Irritated Princess by Tired Old Man, written in the same format, with the same sort of thing going on more or less, but, with said letters written by the Evil Empress, Daybreaker herself, instead of her goody-goody counterpart. Permission for this was given to me by Tired Old Man himself!

Ah, letters. To some, letters are a means for friendly, long distance communication. To others, they are a way of informing you that you are late on your monthly payment. But, for Empress Daybreaker? Well, they're a way of expressing displeasure, annoyance, evil amusement, ransom demands, and other things.

Basically, they're for making her subjects twitch in fear. Lots of fear. Whether it be of her wrath, or the horrors her evil mischieviousness will bring to her subjects.

Through countless centuries, Princess Celestia has remained a steadfast beacon of benevolence, kindness, wisdom and grace. Everypony knows the Princess of the Sun cannot have a dark side.

Sunset Shimmer is about to find out just how wrong they are, and in doing so, find that Celestia understands Sunset more than she ever thought possible.

Celestia is unable to stop the two evil royal sisters, Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon knocking her out before she could destroy them. However, Daybreaker is stronger than Nightmare Moon, so Luna's evil counterpart is at a large disadvantage for the first half of the battle.
Soon, though, Nightmare Moon finds a way to increase her power, and her strength becomes equal to Daybreaker’s.
As the evil sisters battle, Celestia lays unconscious on the castle floors, Luna and Starlight trying to wake her up.

Twilight Sparkle didn't think much of the spell at the time. Using her student's music box to keep an eye on her seemed like an excellent idea! There was just one problem: she couldn't change back.

A darker take on the events of S.7 E.10, so probably watch that first. Fantastic cover by Zutcha, who has a perfect record.
