Soooo... I had an idea for a new story. It came while reading a Naruto fan-fic. Basically: What if pony magic was suppressed by a tyrant Celestia? What if Rainbow Dash broke her seal because of a powerful artifact?

This is what I do when I (prepare to) write.

1)Write the plot completely in your head.
2)Bounce it around.
-Many good ideas come from letting your story crash into other things that you have read.
3)Play with it.
3b)Read Tvtropes - there is a lot of good advice there.
3c)Let your idea marinate.
4)Recite it.
-Work out wording issues. You may also get more ideas here
5)Work the kinks out.
