Honestly, I thought this country will go to shit no matter who won. · 9:50am Nov 9th, 2016
Heck, this year in general was totally out of proportions. Mass shootings, some bombings, bigotry, and now, we have a president who may as well represent who we are as a nation at this very moment.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m scared as much as the next person about what may happen in the next 4 years, but really, how can we make ‘America great again’ when we don’t even know what made it great to begin with? It’s not the greatest country in the world, certainly not the best, same goes for all the others, and there’ll never be a ‘perfect country’ for anyone to live in.
If there’s one thing I’m glad about out of all of this, is that we won’t have to deal with this election bullshit again for a while. No more campaign ads in our faces and everywhere in the media, no more extreme divisiveness between radical groups, and no more attacks and slanders toward each other through lies, rumors, and deception, at least for another 4 years. I just want to get through my days without hearing ‘vote’ again for a while, and I’ll try to make the most of what I have up to the end of this year.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to set up a front-row seat to watch the world burn before I head to bed. Think I'll buy some marshmallows to roast over the fires, too.
Can I join? I brought hot dogs.
My thoughts on trump.
Lets be honest here, chances are that this will lead to World War 3 and nukes will be flying everywhere.
So unless you have a nuclear bunker, you won't survive to enjoy watching the world burn.
Welp, going down to my bunker now. Contact me if you survive the war and we can have some s'mores together.
I will bring the winners and hamburgers.
and no that is not my bade spelling.
throw another winner on the fire.

Dudeler, you're a great pal, but I can't agree with you there. The question you posed is not rhetorical; it has an answer.

It's this country's founding principles that makes this the best country in the world. I don't think Trump will be a great President, but I think he was the best choice. I don't think this country will get as bad as you claim.
Regardless, let's come together and put this whole debacle behind us.
You are right America has never been great no matter what anybody says corruption, bigotry, murder and lies have ruined this country and no matter who won it wasn't gonna stop so all im gonna say we kinda deserved this and im ok with it
i'll bring the tea, looking forward to the fireworks
4292071 I appreciate the honesty and perspective countering my own. Yes, those principles may be well respected depending on who's looking at them, but you gotta admit that we didn't come up with them because we were good people to begin with.
We're the result of foreigners disembarking on this land from a European country, and practically committed genocide to the natives of this land for outdated, questionable reasons. Those principles were founded at the cost of many lives, for better or worse.
Centuries later, we seem to have forgotten that, and we've lost the ability to see the displacement within the minorities that cohabit with us to this day. So yes, we may have found good principles, but they weren't attained through peaceful means.
Whether one sees America as a great country or not, I think we can all agree that we're pretty aggressive, violent, and not the most reasonable species as a whole as one would think, no matter what science says otherwise.
We'll most likely be getting into many more unreasonable, barbaric squabbles with other countries in the years to come.
4292071 I'm sorry, I meant to direct the last comment at

I think war was more likely under Clinton. And I disagree with your assessment of the founding of this country. (I'm not denying the things happened, I just disagree with your perspective.)
Regardless, I think both of us are done with this discussion. Let's move on and focus on fanfiction again.
4293890 Yeah, I'd rather not lament on this more than I need to.
