Celestia is happy. Thanks to Starlight Glimmer, she and Luna are closer than they have been in ages! They are eating breakfast together, talking more, and even helping each other out with court tasks. In short, everything is going great for Celestia.

If only those intrusive thoughts would go away...

(T Rating is due to some graphical descriptions and intense fight scenes featured that I feel push it outside of the E rating.)

When Maud Pie was commissioned to perform a geological survey of the stone underlying the Castle of the Two Sisters, she expected to face Timberwolves, hangry coworkers, and lots of silica-rich minerals. But when she stumbles upon a portal buried under the rubble of Celestia and Luna's ancient conflict, she learns that their roles very easily could have been reversed. With nothing but a small pet rock and her trusty core sampling drill, Maud finds herself thrust into a world where magic is useless, water is worth its weight in gold, and survival is far from guaranteed. When every morning brings a Red Dawn, can one pony make a difference?

Ponyville is in a frenzy when a series of ruins are discovered in the Everfree Forest. But things are never as they seem in the forest, as somethings are best left forgotten. But when one of those things are awakened, usually it is a rude one. As this object is being awakened, fleeing soldiers forced to leave their home enters a new one, with major complications. Equestria in response attempts to cope with this sudden problem, on the brink of collapse as it is already under a diplomatic crisis.

Daybreaker, the Solar Empress of the Solar Empire of Equestria, had finally defeated the resistance that had vowed against her and had conquered their home. Yet she wants more land, more power, and more ponies under her rule. Fortunately for her, a major discovery might just grant that. As the two Equestrias clash, one question is uncertain:

Which side would win?

This story is going to be massive, involving many characters, villains, factions, and contains many tags. Many warnings will be toned down as much as possible for Teen. Humans are included in this story, although the tag will appear misplaced for this story. Finally, please take into consideration that this is my first 'true' story, what I mean is that it is my story where I am actually trying to write a decent story, and not like my other cringy stories. Feedback is highly recommended.

Certain things may not make sense in the beginning will explain itself as the story progresses.

I am including dimensions to this story. They're classified as such:
Text in this font mean that the highlighted text/place is under enemy control
Text in this font mean that the highlighted text/place is under 'good' control

There exists a desolate land where nothing survives for long on the surface. Life can only exist below the surface, where thousands of years ago, creatures known as procubi have created thriving civilizations. Those with horns lead those without; those with wings guard and fight for those without; those without either serve those with; and all are under the command of those with both.

Four matriarchs lead the Femescubi, creatures of beauty, grace, and machinations. One patriarch leads the Mascubi, creatures of strength, power, and wit. Conflict had driven the two apart long ago, yet they still convene together regularly before returning to their respective abodes. Past and present conflicts within each trouble the balance they've developed, threatening their way of life for better or for worse.

Princess Celestia was forced to confront her, and they fought. Nightmare Moon was outmatched, and banished.

Five hundred years ago, Princess Celestia fell to her own corruption, born of grief at the loss of her sister, and rage at her own immortality as she watched those she cared about crumble to dust, while she remained, unchanging.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, the last free country on Equus fell to the newest and only empire on the planet:

The Solar Imperium, ruled with an iron hoof by Queen Daybreaker, Goddess of the Sun.
