Rainbow Dash lives an exciting life and is swiftly becoming the most daring, awesome pegasus in all of Equestria. She would gladly give it all up, though, just to confess her love to Applejack.
Rainbow Dash lay on her bed, a gentle smile plastered across her face.
On the table next to her, a black chalice with wing motifs sat, half-full of bubbling cider.
Lancie crawled up the bedsheets, then perched next to her skull. He waved a stone talon before her shut eyes, then leaned in to hear her steady breathing. He gazed at her, arms crossed, then gradually smirked.
With gentle motions, he pulled the bedsheets up over Rainbow's body, then tucked them in on either side of her. Hopping down to the floor, he stepped backwards, gazing at the sleeping mare.
"Hmmmfff... sweet dreams, Sparky," the statue said. "For what they're ever worth."
Then, with a breath, he swiveled towards the far corner of Rainbow's bedroom.
The closet lay open, and a bag spilled several stone shards onto the floor, each depicting a different arm, tail, horn, or leg.
Lancie stared at it long and hard. After much concentration, his beady eyes came to life, flickering red-on-yellow. Just as quickly, the phenomenon ended.
And yet, it did not bring him the sense of elation he had expected.
His stone ears folded back, and he hugged himself, staring off with a distracted expression.
Cold and silent.

Interesting. Rainbow's had a bit of a lasting effect on him, I guess.
Okay, it's not Epcot brought into the real world. But this is every bit as good.
I've been loving Lancie more and more as I got further along in this story.
I'm starting to see why.
I see Rainbow is majorly affecting his character, thats dope. Also my hypothesis was wrong. I was kinda expecting Lancie to be lying when he said he needed a shard per wish, so that rainbow would keep finding shards for him. I guess this means he really is far less powerful without his body, makes sense.
What's this? Lancie is just as vulnerable to the effects of friendship here as he was in the canon universe? I'm looking forward to seeing what he ends up doing.
Not for the first time, I wonder how this is going to effect things. This story takes place between seasons one and two. So, what happens when "Return of Harmony" rolls around? I mean, I know this is an alternate universe and everything, but still. I wonder how all the pieces will fit together.
Mmmm, I hope this means we're in for more LancieDash. I've said it a million times, but their whole relationship is just the best.
FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC!
I wonder if Lancie is going to be Mr vengeful mcmeany pants when he gets all of his pieces back together and gets his powers back. And I wonder if sunbutt will freak and try to wallop him with the angry might of a million banhammers. I wonder if that butterfly is still up there! Could she teach Discord the true value of friendship?

So let's make another round, shall we? Arm (I'm guessing it's the arm-torso), leg, horn, tail, head and antler (which is Lancie himself). We're missing the other leg, the other arm and maybe the wings (if they're not part of the torso). That's at least six or seven arcs to go: four for each shard and I'm throwing in two or three more for anything extra (final confrontation, confession and the last happy ending for each sidekick).
Lancie be feeling the magic of friendship. Interesting... he doesn't seem to be getting extreme feelings of euphoria though he can touch his chaos shards. I really hope this story doesn't end. Is there still a chapter limit? If so... maybe some kind sequel? Appledashery can never end! All shall remember Squidgy!
Those last words though...
The Chaos leaves him feeling empty inside, he just never knew that until now. Maybe Rainbow can fill the hole in his lonely heart.
I really like the way Dash and Lancie have been warming up to each other over time. I mean, I knew it would happen right from the start, but it's still nice to see.
7052805 He's found something in her he never expected. she was just supposed to be a means to an end and now? She's got him questioning that end.
I agree it's been pretty awesome, it was expected but teh WAY it's happened has been brilliant.
"Stupid power of friendship; now I can't even chaos properly anymore."
