Fans nail what major studios have blundered for years. · 2:07am Monday

Over a year ago when I read that various YouTube channels in the Resident Evil community were collab'ing on a fan film, I somehow knew right then that whatever they put out, it was going to put everything Hollywood has done to shame.
I was right.
It's only thirteen minutes long, but they nailed it. They even got the Chris Redfield actor from the original 1996 game to play the Keeper.
THESE are the people that need larger production budgets.
Fans. Not profit-driven production studios.
When you spend almost 15 minutes on a flashback for just one of RE1's (wait, RE1, RE-make, or both? No, seriously, my knowledge of the original RE1 begins and ends with Jill sandwich) documents, you have to wonder if this would be a movie or a series, with each season adapting one of the games. Yeah, it would be great if someone picked this up and gave it a budget. Probably HBO, maybe not Netflix.
Wouldn't be the first time I've seen a fan create something beautiful with the property. Though most of my examples are Sonic-related (see Ian Flynn and Christian Whitehead). Does Lauren Faust and G4 count? Could swear she moved on pretty quickly after it got off the ground.

Faust was super hands on for the first season... excessively so to my knowledge. She also did things like a writers room and regular meetings. She was a consultant for season 2 but when she left completely Cadence was still a unicorn so...
But honestly Lauren Faust did MLP in order to try and get her pet project (Galaxy Girls) greenlit. To my knowledge it never got funding which considering how many hit shows she's been part of blows my mind. The original Powerpuff Girls, Fosters home for and MLP alone were practically required watching for girls (and guys) when I was growing up.

I just bought the original 1996 version of Resident Evil when it came out for PC this week, but haven't made time for it, so I can't say with absolute certainty that the Keeper's Diary was in there. Certainly a memorable moment in REmake.
And yeah, absolutely nothing movie or series wise that's been announced has remotely captured my interest. Think Netflix has green-lit a prequel of sorts? And I think I heard something about a continuation of the Anderson movies, and that is just... No. No.
That's the reason I was looking forward to this fan film.

Yeah I don't think she eve had plans to make Twilight an alicorn, but I've long given up wondering where the show would have gone had they gone in an alicorn-less direction.
It's got that b-movie charm to it.
Screw all those money hungry businessmen, these guys are the real professionals
