Twilight awakes in a foreign bed after a very rough Pinkie Pie party of drinking and partying. Things quickly go down hill when she finds out that she has some how swapped places with her teacher Celestia, and no pony seems indifferent about it including Princess Luna, who is adamant that she is her older sister.

When she approaches her former teacher about it, things might not be so easy as waiting the spell to run it's course.

This story is a sequel to Not Quite The Last

Shortly after Twilight's regeneration, the Doctor and her leave to adventure through time and space once again. This time, however, they're faced with an even greater task: discover the secret of the alicorns. How exactly does a unicorn become a god with immortality? How did Twilight, Celestia, Luna, and Cadence become so powerful that they could survive beyond death and become something greater? These questions nag at the Doctor as he and his faithful companion continue their adventures through time and space, saving lives and ending wars before they can begin.

With some changes on Star Swirl's time spell, Twilight accidentaly gets trapped in the past. But after saving two fillies and enlisting them to be her students in magic, they go on adventures together to survive the ruthless world they live in. With new friendship and foes, they discover what it truly means to be family by choice.
