Hello, my name is Octavia, and in only one short year I managed to climb my way up to the top of the world of classical music. Where I was world renowned for my showings of masterpieces created by composers over the eons. But now I play my beloved cello for nothing more than mere spare change, taking shelter at night in the empty doorways in the back allies of the city that never sleeps....

When Octavia sees Vinyl's affections towards a stallion, she can't bring herself to confess her feelings towards her childhood friend. Jealousy leads to an argument on Hearth's Warming Eve, and when Octavia is set to play music at the local play, she is shocked by a sad call from Vinyl. With someone close to her dying, Vinyl finally begins to question her life, and what she truly means to Octavia.

Octavia has a musical history and a side to herself she'd rather not have to explain outside of Ponyville. Inside Ponyville... well, everything was fine until she spotted Vinyl Scratch. What was she doing here?

Don't panic, Octavia! Don't freak out, don't lose your mind, don't....

After a terrible Civil War that segregated the three pony races, the galaxy became a terrible place. Earth Ponies and Hybrids (mixed ponies) are seen as dung under the hooves of the aristocrats. But after thirty years of turmoil ponies wanted it all to stop. But no side dares to back down. One day a princess was born that rocked the entire planet of Canterlot and the surrounding Equestrian Galaxy: an earth pony hybrid princess.

Sixteen years after her birth, Princess Octavia was always protected by her unicorn parents but that changed during her sixteenth birthday when the ship her family was on was attacked by pirates. A young thief by the name of Vinyl Scratch rescues Octavia from the blades of her attackers. Who’d ever thought that this meeting will change their lives forever?

Vinyl had dreams of becoming a rich merchant as Octavia dreams of bringing her people back from segregation. But how can these two fulfill their dreams when evil pirates, assassins, and aristocrats try to stop them at every turn? Adventure and treasure meet their sights as these two mares meet a college professor and her assistant with a clue that will lead them to the greatest legendary treasure of all time. They must find the legendary Luna’s Treasured Moon where Luna’s treasure rests, and the rumored burial ground of the Princess Explorer. But the only key to get there is Octavia’s necklace, The Luna’s Tear.

(This is a crossover between Treasure Planet, Castle in the Sky, and Ponies. It’s not really a crossover but you’ll recognize themes from both of these movies in the story.)

Of course not just any pet will do, and Vinyl picks the most exotic pet in the store, an Octaviapus. But when “Octy” begins to grow at an alarming rate and ponies begin to disappear, Lyra begins to wonder if “Octy” is really as innocent as Vinyl claims. Could it all be a misunderstanding or does “Octy” have an insatiable thirst for pony flesh?

It's been three weeks since Octavia's smash hit, I am Octavia, and while the cellist's career is on a high note, that's about the only thing that is. Vinyl and Octavia are a complete wreck without each other, but repairing such damage to a relationship isn't easy, nor is it always possible. This is my answer (even though I know it's already been done here) to the question on everypony's mind:

Will Vinyl and Octavia be friends again?

Octavia finds Vinyl at a party after so many years and they become regular friends again. Though, amidst their friendship, Octavia develops feelings for Vinyl. She expresses these feelings by writing a composition for her new crush. Will Vinyl return Octavia's feelings?
